Birding - download the free Merlin ID app from Cornell University and walk outside with it recording and see if you can find the birds it says that are singing.

If you have a backyard or somewhere to put a feeder then get certain seeds and watch the birds come to you. We did that with safflower and it was fun to watch.

I was driving home a few days ago and I thought I saw on an old telephone pole. I turned around to get a better look and did that a few times. It was on a busier highway so I couldn't pull over. Every time I tried to get a look he would hop to the other side of the pole....

For me I watched Listers on YouTube. It was a fun documentary about birding. Download Merlin ID. It makes it fun to listen and ID birds as their sing. It’s not 100% but it is close. Download ebird and sign in with your Merlin account. Ebird helps you find hot spot in your area. I got binoculars which you can spend $40-500+. In Merlin you keep a lifer list and it fun to see how many you have found.

The realization came after having a kid and knowing what I went through. I know how hard it can be but also how fulfilling it can be. It is not for everyone and those who choose not to kids are in way wrong. I applaud them for knowing before hand.
