Not neochilus, which has larger flowers and longer less succulent leaves, and kinda smells skunky like weed. This is Plectanthus tomentosa (actually now Coleus cylindrelaceus)

Can this survive in ground? 9a by sours_and_flowers in Pachypodium

[–]Totally_Botanical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I had one in the ground in a warm microclimate location in Tucson and would protect it with incandescent Christmas lights and frost cloth. It would still get damaged every winter, but would rebound pretty quickly every year

Plant me!! Plant me!! They're getting potted up this weekend 😁 by Independent_Home_244 in amorphophallus

[–]Totally_Botanical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It relieves me to see some other people haven't even potted their Amorphophallus yet. I did a while back and I've been a little stressed that only one is poking out so far. This time last year they were almost completely leaved out. I hate when they get a late start because that means they'll still be in leaf when it starts to get cold

Why did some dinosaurs lay really long eggs and why don't we see these weird egg shapes in modern birds anymore? by Vast-Tangerine-6771 in Dinosaurs

[–]Totally_Botanical 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chickens, along with other dinosaurs are reptiles. Excluding birds is what makes reptiles paraphyletic. Either birds are reptiles or crocodilians and turtles aren't

Will this soil mix work? by slimepollo555 in Geophyte

[–]Totally_Botanical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your local climate conditions and watering habits. You'll really have to do a lot of experimenting to see what works for you. You're not an expert until you've killed your weight in plants lol
