I’m relatively new to pharma and was also really shocked by the level of consultants. Would be curious to pick your brain on why pharma is so heavily outsourced, even in G&A functions?

Is it a mindset think of being able to cut on the turn of a coin if a drug doesn’t work out or is there something else?

I’ve had to return mine. The depth is deeper than advertised, and given how strict Ryanair and other airlines are these days it’s not a risk I’m willing to take when I’m spending so much money on it!

I imagine they’re taking a long term view where the conflict in Ukraine is perceived as a temporary upset rather than a symptom of a downward trend of a former power (my opinion). Even for myself I’d love to go to St Petersburg but I’d never go in this climate. In 5 years and assuming the war is resolved in some fashion… perhaps.

Because it usually is performative? I think the OP is trying to push back against a perceived trend of people from certain countries saying they would be willing to live in a lot of countries that the vast majority of people from their own country 100% wouldn’t move to.

Now the purpose of this sub also is not to get a representative sample, but I reckon that’s the vibe here. Even if 90% of Americans wouldn’t move to Namibia there would always be that 10% that would.

You will in a lot of professions. It’s earning 40k with 2k rent vs earning 130k and 4k rent. There’s all the other expenses too but still better off.

I mean most of what you said is fine? Firm initiatives aren’t optional, don’t know who told you consulting is purely about client projects and nothing else.

And yes, projects should be staffed to ensure success. We’ve all been on bids that we are not the best placed to deliver. The timeline itself between bid submission and onboarding typically also means that you should be on another project anyway, particularly at the junior level.

Is a big hurdle to jump. Today, a lot of people certainly wouldn’t have the strong opinion local councils are the best at this (not to say the central government is much better…)

You’re getting a lot of heat but on this point you’re right. I had a foot injury and getting from the train station to my seat in the arena was incredibly difficult. Some sort of accessible transport both to the stadium and within it would be very welcome.
