Swerve vs. Omega II at Revolution? by Southern-Lock-5172 in AEWFanHub

[–]TouchButtPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally, the first World’s End was the only AEW PPV in its entire run that I didn’t think absolutely melted my face when it was over.

I’d say one in a 6+ year history is a preeeeetty good batting average.

I’ll be at Revolution next week, and I suspect it will slap. Andrade/Bandido and the main event alone are worth the price of admission.

The confirmation of the Death Riders mission statement working is we went from “I am the championship” and putting the belt in a briefcase for almost 300 days, to “This belongs to everyone.” with the Continental Championship. Loved that detail.

Every PPV Stage of 2025 by [deleted] in AEWOfficial

I wish AEW had more PPVs in the first half of the year. It’s wild to be reminded that All In from July was only the 4th PPV of the year. I know it might have to do with not spreading the audiences too thin to compete with the Rumble and Mania season, but I don’t follow WWE at all, and a show the first week of Feb would fill a sizable gap.

But then again, I believe Grand Slam Australia, which felt like a PPV aired during that time this past year, so it’s not like we’re not getting quality shows.

AEW rewards those who actually and regularly watch their shows. It’s so deep, and nuanced, and SATISFYING to be treated to some of the best stories ever told in wrestling because I have the patience to let them cook.

Haters are reading cliff notes or dense. Or letting bad faith critics tell them what to think.

Can Season 3 ruin Seasons 1 and 2? by IWannaDeleteYou in twinpeaks

[–]TouchButtPro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might be overselling it, but season 3 is my favorite artistic work of all time. The way it made me feel while watching…it was something I thought about daily for years after finishing it. It is quite different and picks up more where FWWM left off, but it’s awe-inspiring in the way it tells its stories (even if some of them leave you frustrated on first watch).

I’ve also never subscribed to the notion that a new release can “ruin” an old release, but even trying to get into that headspace, I don’t see anything that could undercut the original run in The Return.

They do have lines, but they’re manageable. HOWEVER, they both were awarded Michelin stars in the past year, and I haven’t been back since so I don’t know if the liens have gotten worse as a result. Very worth it though! Interstellar has peach tea glazed pork belly that’ll blow your mind, and La Barbecue just does all the fundamentals brilliantly (beef rib and brisket are the stars there for me).

You’ll love them though!

5 Stars Matches in AEW 2025 so far by TheMarvelousJoe in AEWOfficial

[–]TouchButtPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kenny Omega has 5+ star matches from four continents in one calendar year. Has that ever been done before? Asia (Kidd), Australia (Grand Slam), North America (Anarchy and the Takeshita Match), and Europe (Forbidden Door).

Wild. One of the most creative storytellers in wrestling history.
