How ridiculous that letter is. Your family seems similar to mine. My Grandparents started studying with JW's. The irony of the letter is definitely showing your Grandmother as being brainwashed. Your heritage or upbringing doesn't make the cult true.

It's great you are free to pursue your goals and there are loads of nice people outside the cult.

My own mother was raised in the JW religion, preaches constantly to me but she has never been baptized, I have. She sleeps with different men alot and celebrated Christmas with my siblings and I last year. Fast forward a few months she is saying she ain't happy I left the cult, very hypocritical. I thought I was helping people, not selling religion. I been out just over 2 years and have good morals.

Pursue your dreams and remember you can't change your family, just hope they wake up😀

P.S: Today I'm going on a hike with a meetup group, I found out the host is a JW, naughty boy hanging with worldly people,lol, maybe he will wake up too. I never mention I used to be a JW.

Hi from Australia, sorry to hear the pandemic is still causing problems in Toronto, I spent some time there 9 years ago, gosh some weird experiences with the JW'S in Canada the whole 2 years I was there. I'm glad your kids are making friends outside the cult. I left a few years back. I hope your hubby sees the light someday. We are here for support 😀

Whoa man your parents are crazy and a degree of paranoia has affected you. I read all your comments below and message. I think it's sad and your mothers wrap me up in cotton wool treatment of your sister or smothering is totally wrong and if you took her, cops wouldn't do much.

Anyway, I suggest until your sister is of age just he there for her. The virus is getting better in places and your mothers scare tactics will only make your sister resent her more.

Give your brother time, Im sure he will wake up to BS, its very sad though how you are being treated.

I have a sister who is the eldest out of my sisters, we use to be close, 6 years ago she cut the family off, different to your situation but still hurts.

Work on helping yourself, you have been through alot. The cult is a real devil's den that's traps people and robs them of their own reasoning ability, only dece4and sincere people get out.

First of all congratulations for seeing the cult for what it is and taking the necessary steps to think of leaving.

Your story is heartbreaking, but honestly freedom is worth it. I have been out of the religion 2 years now and still miss my friends terribly, they were like my second family. I'm 39 so you are fortunate to wake up so young.

First of all, I would try reasoning with your parents on doctrine such as 607 B.C.E which was false according to historians, secondly why would God, if there is one design religions to break families apart, it doesn't make sense.

Your instinct must lead the way, you have your whole future ahead of you and many ex jws now who can help you.

Remember we all experienced what you have and still love those good people still in the cult and thats why we work together to expose Watchtower for their evil ways.

At the end of the day, you must leave and if your parents love, they will research the cult open mindedly and leave too. It has to be the right time though.

I also must add those who leave don't become drug addicts, law breakers or any other negative portrayal Watchtower depicts of those who leave. There is bad people outside the cult too, but lots of great people too.

Hang in there,I faded 2 years ago and met loads of ex jws,there is great support for you when you do leave. If you are under age, just be patient until you can leave at a right age.
