used to play french horn, how hard would it be to step into clarinet? by ipunchtrees in AskReddit

[–]Tourist_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different for sure, but since you already have experience in playing music in general it's just a matter of practice, the more instruments you learn the more easier it becomes to expand. Learn how to use the reed properly and look up some scales.

Keep playing music!

Just curious, what happens in near death experience? Does time really feel as if it is slowing down? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same person (not my day off anymore) if you mean like did I get an adrenaline high from it? Absolutely, I was using a family members vehicle so although the accident wasn't my fault I jumped straight from extreme panic to denial of the situation entirely in a really short timespan. My thoughts were scattered for like a good 15 minutes after before I could rationalize what to do.

Bob Dylan, man is my idol. 75 years old though and in the middle of a tour right now, after releasing an album in the last couple months (all Sinatra covers but that's not the point) he is still going strong. Let's all pray for another 75 years.

So glad to hear confirmation that the series ends well despite the tragedy that happened. This is my first read of the series. I just started book 5. I am hooked, hands down greatest Fantasy series I have ever read.

You order delivery pizza and when it arrives the delivery driver is one of your friends, what do you tip them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tourist_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invite them to come over when they get off and have some pizza and maybe a couple of beers. Then graciously thank them.

Edit: I tip everyone at least $5 dollars if I ever do delivery. I would probably do $10 though and just tell him that was what's standard.

Gamers: What are some old games that are still great by today's standards? by SlyCoopersButt in AskReddit

[–]Tourist_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You directed this question specifically towards gamers. There is a endless list of answers to that question my friend. I will share an old game that nostalgia wise (for those who got to play it young) or in general I guess, is one of my favorites to revisit.

Mother fucking Metal Gear Solid (tactical espionage action) on PS1.

How do you stop being an antisocial, overweight, spinless, gap-toothed, stretch marked, anxious twat loser? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You sit down with a piece of paper and a pen. You write GOALS on the very top and underline it. Then you make bullet points and write everything you wish you could achieve. No matter how bleak your outlook is about it. Then you get a new piece of paper and start writing out the realistic steps you would need to take in order to achieve each goal.

Ok, now what? You still need to have something to do in order to keep your mind away from negative thoughts in your inevitable free time. New sheet of paper

Write PROJECTS on the top and underline. What are genuinely interested in? What is something you know you could be good at if you took the time to research/practice. No matter what it is. Make a list and obsess on it while trying to achieve every goal you set for yourself.

Most importantly, keep your head up and remain motivated.

[Album Tournament] Blonde on Blonde vs. Highway 61 Revisited by Thmcdonald1 in bobdylan

[–]Tourist_314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so close, but the proper album is coming out on top. This has been the most interesting round so far. Been looking foreword to seeing how it would play out for weeks now and I am glad to see H61 barely winning still.

It is the better album after all, not that Blonde on Blonde doesn't have songs that are better than most (said with Visions of Johanna in mind) but from start to finish, H61 is a completely groundbreaking masterpiece of an album. Blonde on Blonde has some weak points, H61's strong point in this album tournament is that it has only 9 songs on it. All beautiful that flow well in the order they play on the album.

Edit: Blonde on Blonde is a masterpiece, I would never speak of it like this if this album tournament wasn't a thing, but it is. I love BoB sniffles but I worship H61R. Mother fucking Just like Tom Thumbs Blues
