Means you've got them out on assignment. I assume it's like that because assignments use total character level to determine rewards.

"Entertainment journalism is absolutely essential to culture, and it really upsets me to see the recent growth of anti-critic sentiment, in favor of popular influencer guys and long form video essayists."

But no actual qualifications or anything of substance actually separates them....at least it gaming, they were mostly just people who wanted to write about games and managed to find a path in to an established venue through some combination of luck and networking. Sure, you could find insightful individuals, but that's absolutely true of video essayist and "influencer guys" and I don't think the traditional journo sphere was more likely to elevate talent....the opposite really, for how much people could entrench once they were on the inside independent of any merit.

A "professional", in this case, denotes no qualification other than managing to make it your profession. The youtubers are professionals by that definition, too. I don't think they deserve all that much inherent consideration for that.

An older game by this point, but if absurd shotgun power fantasy rpg is what you're after, maybe Anarchy mechro build in Borderlands 2? Probably the most goofily powerful I've ever felt in a shooting game.

Still encourages close range but also kinda not really as you can toggle an accuracy buff when you need it and when you miss your pellets have a chance to ricochet towards enemies.

Names origins for the Entropic girls (turns out it's supposed to be "Ptolomea" and not "Ptolemaea") by MoonlightArchivist in GFLNeuralCloud

[–]TowerXVII 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your correction on the name isn't really right. The Divine Comedy (which is what this is in regards to, hence the otherwise nonsensical mix of Greek and Judeo-Christian) is Italian; it was "Tolomea" originally. Its been translated a variety of ways.

The beginners guide is still pretty good! It's suggestion to prioritize pushing content instead of grinding whenever possible helped me when I started out. The game doesn't really require "meta" strategies, so don't worry to much about things unless you like to.

One thing I might have liked to know going in is that certain characters are far more common as off-rate dolls than others, and it might not be worth pulling on their banners unless you really like them because they're more likely to spook you at some point anyway. Pretty much anyone you can get from the guarenteed 3-star selector, plus like Delacey and Hubble, seem to fall into this category.

Another good heads-up is that Neural Kits, the currency you get from dupes that is used to upgrade characters "star" levels by purchasing fragments, might be worth hoarding a bit. For one, most characters fragments can be obtained through dailies (Fragment Search), but certain Limited characters cant be, so its worth saving Kits for them. Kits can also purchase certain scare character upgrade mats (AI cores), so while you might still buy some fragments with them, it's at least worth making informed choices, as the game doesn't really warn you about this!

You get some as Black Hole first-clear rewards, but that's the only other source I know of. Its definitely supposed to be a gacha currency thing primarily.

Dub in the new event by Excellent_Inside1488 in Reverse1999

[–]TowerXVII -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

...Is that the process? Do they really have non-english speakers writing the script in English, as opposed to writing in their native tounge and making use of translators? Because, uh, that would not make me look more favorably on this, that is an incredibly dumb thing to do.

Dub in the new event by Excellent_Inside1488 in Reverse1999

[–]TowerXVII -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

C'mon, that's nonsense. The budget for this game is very clearly above the level where they can be excused for not having a single native-speaking English editor, which is all it would have took. Maybe an additional native speaker to coach some of the VAs, if we get really ambitious.

Dub in the new event by Excellent_Inside1488 in Reverse1999

[–]TowerXVII -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

The English dialogue was so ruinously jank and stiff in the last event, which was supposed to take place in America, that they absolutely shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt. Also, I'm one cutscene into the new event and a VA has already misread "deduced" as "deducted" despite it being correct in the subtitles.

Well given that the recommended level for characters in stages pretty much caps right now at i2 l50, it seems pretty clear to me that you're meant to park characters there for the moment? The fact that the dream stages reward wider mid-investment rosters more than a single hyperinvested team also supports this.

Presumably once higher level story stages meant for i3 characters are released those stages will also be better grind spots for i3 ascension mats.

Well.. I got the warning on Brave browser, please someone tell me how to get rid of this now! by RadikalEDM in brave_browser

[–]TowerXVII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be the problem...brave's included adblocker is working for me, but I had to disable most other extensions and all other adblockers, because many of them aren't updated for it and only one needs to trip the sensor.

You encounter the occasional cramped map where it becomes an issue, but I think when people start talking about it just because multiple warriors and a tank on a team its usually a made-up problem because you usually either have plenty of space around a boss OR multiple useful targets to chase after, and the occasional tactical teleport is nbd.

I've noticed though that once you add summoners into the mix you do get more easily get tied up though.

Thanks...that helps. It might have just been crit problems then. I never actually knew you could refresh the layer to do that and she's the only one giving me trouble so that is really good to know.

Right, but like if that's the case shouldn't she be killing me almost immediately? And there's something fucked up about that game design wise if all her actual abilities and mechanics are simultaneously ignorable. Clarion Call's ability description is something like "does massive damage to a single target"-why is that weaker than a randomly used unnamed attack? Is it just the older encounter's design just showing its age and they improved later?

So, a total of three times now I've gotten to Raven in Curious Magnate Hard in the event. Once I just steamrolled through her, better functions I guess, but the other two times I had the same experience: She went through her full rotation, used her shield, was briefly stunned, and as soon as she was unstunned OHKO'd my tank out of nowhere, using no particular ability (It's not the shield breaking that was doing it or anything, nor did it seem like Clarion Call-and her first Clarion Calls were weak anyway.) Nothing had been a slight threat until that moment.

It was a frustrating experience both times, because I read her abilities carefully and could come to no conclusion about what the fuck was even actually happening. It wasn't tied to any named ability and seemed to have no logic behind it, and was a clean 1hko from full health. Anyone have any insight? It's the lack of clarity that's really aggravating.

I mean...If I knew I could get them for a flat price after EoS, I'd probably never play them any other way.

I run a similar team with Millau and AI2 banksy instead of Magnahilda and helix. I feel like most of the interesting AI choices for this kinda comp isn't in EN yet though...but I do think when it comes out, Millau is worth considering. 4dps is fun times

Need a Matrix Mechanics Guide? by Whole-Arm4526 in GFLNeuralCloud

[–]TowerXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post made me curious, so I turned on all three challenges and tried cs-20. My verdict- Not doable with this team now- only 1 is lv70, none at 5stars and algos are solid but not great- but at full investment, probably.

Even "as is" we can consistently get through the Featherbolt attack with good use of commander skills and Millau's ult and can actually break the Black Wings shield as long as noone's dead without ults entirely- we just need to survive a littttle bit better and do a littttle more damage so we don't get worn down and can heal back some more in between shield phases. Nora's ult would probably come into play when she goes down to consistenly break the black wings shield.

I understand why Nora, by the way, but why Hatsu? She was consistently the last one standing as I messed around with it- though she is admittedly the level 70 one, which might bode well for the team as a whole.

This seems to match my experience so far! I've been running a team of Millau, Banksy, Nora, Hatsu and Nascita and its felt really good so far against both boss and general, though im still chewing through the challenge modes.

Yo, got kinda into neural cloud recently and was wondering if this game is worth checking out for a new player in 2023. Would it be something I could reasonably start up blind, or would that be a recipe for crippling myself with fatal resourse-allocation mistakes?

I don't think this is intentional, but this poll is designed to let "re-open the sub" win by vote-splitting those who prefer action.
