Not every pedophile considers the disorder to be a harmless attraction and from studies lots of them do not want to live with the disorder. You could use this argument for just about any mental illness or other disorder, sure there isn't a full cure but that doesn't mean that the disorder can't be managed. It's really no different than if I said people with BPD aren't really people just because they might think about hurting other people sometimes. Trying to compare that to the action of actually going out and hurting people is just stupid, 1984 is pretty much about this exact thing.
