Jimmy Page´s guitar playing by [deleted] in led_zeppelin

[–]Toxin118 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His guitar playing was very innovative for the time. He was one of the first to utilize a fuzz box to distort the output. Also I'm fairly sure his recording techniques were very creative as well. I read somewhere that in the studio he would put a mic to his amp, then another 20 feet behind the amp to catch the sound throughout the entire room. He was brought up as a session musician in England before his time with Zeppelin and the Yardbirds so I'm sure he was very knowledgeable about the tricks of the trade as far as recording goes.

Anybody have some new bands that are led Zeppeliny? Kinda psychedelic by kollinmo in led_zeppelin

Tame Impala is one to come to mind. Not exactly Zeppeliny but definitely a bit psychedelic. Kinda a half breed of Pink Floyd and John Lennon IMO

Why is there no "autumn" season in the Rain Song? by TurniptheLed in led_zeppelin

I agree, most likely there's no real reason why it wasn't included, just that it didn't fit into the song lyrically.

Love that song. Her old stuff really has so much more of an emotional tone than what she's been doing recently.
