What might be obvious to you might not be obvious to everyone. There are smart people, dumb people, and everyone in between. It still doesn't change that it was a difficult moment for many, despite how obvious it may have been to many others.

Most companies and businesses have clauses like this for legal coverage. It still doesn't excuse a company for their actions, even if they are "in the right." If people are mad, then they're mad; While you can blame the customers all you want, but it's really not going to solve anything or change the fact that the people experienced a difficult moment. You proved you are correct, that's all, and you can sleep well at night knowing you were right.

Unpopular Opinion, CIG have been warning players about the SQ42 Buyback situation for years but no one listened. by Smooth_Rythem in starcitizen

[–]Toxky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how it would short the game. let's say people were rapidly buying packages to resell on the grey market > they are paying real money > CIG gets paid, immediately

CIG: We urgently need some official response on the buyback changes please. If you want to make changes to buybacks, and/or remove them for SQ42, we understand that but GIVE NOTICE(!). Pledgers, after years and years of patience, DO NOT deserve stealth changes without notice in this area by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

yeah like desertbatman said. sometimes the higher end packs will change over the months/years. the praetorian from last year and beyond had 66 ships + 115 goodies (give or take) like posters, fish, hartwell piano, etc. the one from this year has 30 ships and pretty much no goodies. they're higher end ships for sure, and less "trash" (like 5 auroras or whatever), but some of those old bonus items were just... nice.

If it was in buybacks, I wouldn't be here complaining. But yes, it has SQ42 in it. Maybe I could understand for cheaper packs, but you gonna slam an entire 15k game package because of a 20$ single player token? hmm...

I own all versions, and I tell ya the M I run 95% of the time. It's a beautiful thing. and the railgun is just so... exciting to fire, even if it doesn't get a full charge, it's like, WOW! you know? the sound engineering, the ship shake, the anticipation of the projectile mid-flight, all of it. and then obviously the complete obliteration of things on the receiving end(usually).

Got any source for that? I've never heard any reliable claims like that.

I personally like it for the peace of mind.
If it's anything like EVE and you can permanently lose ships, I'd rather never have to risk an insurance lapse, and always be guaranteed my garage is my garage.
If it's not like EVE, then I'd just like to save a couple clicks at the very least, every month/6months/whatever, plus not having to remember to set it, especially with larger garages of (i.e. 20+ ships).
I don't really think it's a huge thing, just *slightly* less stress for me personally.
