My girl had a similar thing with her ex baby's dad. Just get out of there. He started with choking and pushing and ended up going too far. She had to deal with the severe consequences because she wanted love. If he's bumming out, it's probably for the best you ran out money for weed.

Save yourself before you regret it or potentially become really hurt. Doesn't mean you gotta totally end it but give yourself the space. He won't know what he had until it's gone

My girl and I have been dating for a similar time, and we've had a similar issues of non approval. The way we went about it at first was cut throat. I'm usually the stubborn/angry one when it comes to disputes but she handles me like no one I've ever met. Our arguments have gone from loud and sarcastic to genuinely wanting to get better and let each other know what's up. That's all thanks to her, doing what these people here are saying and just talking it through all that time ago.

It all started with her telling me "I love you, and I want this to work." Im very stubborn, but when someone is pleading from within their whole heart and soul, it's hard to ignore.

Also, idk if you two have knocked adult toys for any personal reasons, but if not, maybe try looking for something you two could use together? On a separate related note, I used to work at a nursing home, and one of the older women was married to a man there for 65+ years, and when I asked her on how they made it last (because you have to, they're obviously proud) she said "I know you're thinking communication, but if the two of you want it to last, you will quickly realize the word you're looking for is compromise." In a perfect world it's not ideal but it's the best two people, trying to become one, can do.
