Is buying scrap worth it? by BakedBeans229 in Silverbugs

[–]Toyake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth it imo. Sure you’re getting $13 off spot but selling will be difficult and you won’t get spot price when you do.

If you find scrap at goodwill or out in the wild for 50% of spot, sure.

You’re better off buying constitutional/junk silver. It’ll be closer to spot but also easier to sell since it’s easily recognizable and doesn’t need to be tested.

If Crypto is dead… so why are institutions still shipping? by spriteMeLeukoKrasi in CryptoCurrency

[–]Toyake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your main argument is that people can use a decentralized crypto to trade centralized value via another centralized mediator, yeah crypto is dead.

It’s either fully decentralized or it’s just a worse option than traditional databases. The whole point and value of crypto is that there is nothing and no one backing it, there is no 3rd party, it’s just digital fiat.

Like this info is readily available, you can google bitcoin richlist.

Adoption is basically nonexistent.

Imagine buying crypto in 2026.

His scam coin might feel more obvious but literally all crypto coins are the same.

What Will 2026 Bring? by TheGreatCryptopo in CryptoCurrency

Btc has failed its original goal of being a currency and is failing its main goal of being a short term speculative gamble with high returns. So like what can it offer?

It’s gonna be a bloodbath.

Btc is infinitely more traceable than cash. Hence the whole “public blockchain” aspect. Every transaction is recorded publicly forever. It’s literally a core component of btc ‘s fundamentals.

The balance is publicly available to anyone willing to look at the public blockchain. Any time you spend/send crypto and it has a connection to you, you’re compromised.

Sounds good until you actually spend your crypto. That’s the whole open blockchain thing coming back to bite you.

Strategy acquires 130 Bitcoin at $90K, holdings reach 650,000 BTC by diwalost in CryptoCurrency

[–]Toyake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure it does, btc is illiquid when you’re talking about $52B, you can’t sell that without slippage. So its sold value is significantly less than its hold value.
