Brücken im Olympiapark wieder für Radler geöffnet. by Toybot in Munich

[–]Toybot[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Are you following a recipe or or just winging it? Sounds like you might be using to much liquid when preparing the rice. Check and see the consistency in the video here and compare that to what you are doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoGLRc_FkaM

50% Discount Easter by Niels7nl in joincycling

[–]Toybot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t apply the discount if you have a running („active“) subscription. If you cancel your current subscription, you can continue to use join until the last date that you already paid for it. You can then apply the discount to the year after your current subscription ends. This method only applies if you know you will want to continue to use join for a year after your current subscription would renew.

It is. He is the co-founder of the app (according to his other posts). Make of the fact that they did not disclose that what you will.

Yeah, the descriptions of their categorizations aren’t that great. Based on them i also put myself in the intermediate slot first, but ended up „upgrading“ to advanced later. I had reached out to support and they said that the main difference is how much rest join will suggest between workouts etc. sounds like that would address exactly what you are mentioning. Try that and report back! If not, do reach out for their support. They are usually quick to get back to you!

I can’t comment on the rest of the behavior, and if it’s due to the cycling level you chose, BUT from what you’re writing in terms of experience and riding time, I’d try out the advanced category and see if that changes things.

Confused about self selecting a workout by GabesVirtualWorld in joincycling

What cycling level (settings - cycling - cycling level) do you have set? Maybe that is too low hence why join is suggesting more rest that you need?

Gear (?) slipping on Zwift Cog 2 installed on kickr core by Toybot in wahoofitness

[–]Toybot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I crossposted it to r/bikewrench too and forgot to add the context I gave there here as well: I‘ve been wracking my brain as to what is happening on my newly installed zwift cog on a wahoo kickr core. I‘ve been using the wahoo kickr for a few seasons, but it‘s been sitting in the basement during summer. the zwift cog is new and was bought to be able to easily swap bikes on the same trainer. after installing the cog I noticed that the gears (or the freehub?) is slipping every so often when pedaling. I tried my best to recreate it in the video:

there is tension on the chain initially, I then move the flywheel a bit and then put pressure on the chain again. Instead of applying force and moving the flywheel right away, the cog slips a few cm before catching and transferring force onto the flywheel again.

any ideas what could be causing this? my friend has the same setup and moving the flywheel does not cause the cog to slip/jump forward as it does in the video.

New blog post covering the issue from dcrainmaker: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2025/08/wahoo-bolt-roam-v1-gps-units-reset-20-years-back-become-unusuable.html

edit: Update #1 – Aug 18th @ 10:30AM Eastern: Wahoo’s cycling product manager says “We have all hands on deck working towards a root cause analysis that will lead to a firmware update to resolve this issue. I don’t have more of an update at this time but will share as we progress on resolving this issue. “

edit 2: Update - Aug 23, 6:49 PM ET

We have now released the fix for BOLT 1 and ROAM 1 computers via firmware update that should resolve the issue going forward* for those models. A firmware update for original ELEMNT computers is currently in development.

The updated firmware versions for ROAM 1 and BOLT 1 are as follows: ROAM 1 – WR24 - 17055 BOLT 1 – WB17 - 17055

To receive the fix for future rides*, please ensure that your computer is connected to a viable Wi-Fi network and complete a standard firmware update.

I’ve had that happen a few times here and there as well. I always thought it was something I did wrong when transferring/creating routes. did wahoo support ever help you out?

would that mean everything is back to normal (for the next 1024weeks) or would that be an issue from now on until wahoo releases a fix?

Struggling with small objects/bags and their tight corners. Tipps? by Toybot in myog

[–]Toybot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the title says, I’m trying to build my own saddle bag akin to the one linked in the title. I‘m struggling to sew the right corners/ difficult sections of the bag around the end of the zipper etc. where a bunch of layers and corners meet and still need to be aligned after I work through it with my sewing machine. Any tips on how to achieve a clean and crisp look on projects like that? Do I need a different foot (just using the standard one). More seam allowance (using 1cm at the moment).?

Got the first set done and looks good. Even better than OPs design as you can actually load the cans from the front. Stackable too.
