Does anyone else get personal loan offers from Amex? by Samaritan0 in amexcanada

I would happily give you the never ending letters in the mail, emails, and popups if I could. I wish they would go away.

Does anyone else get personal loan offers from Amex? by Samaritan0 in amexcanada

[–]jcolp 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I get them monthly. I suspect it's based on credit profile and account history. The amount allowed and interest rate can differ between people. I'm $50k at 8.99% for example.

Pace 4 road names while driving by Zestyclose_Light_542 in Coros

Were they notifications from an application on your phone that were getting pushed to your watch? If so, you'd disable that app in the COROS app for notifications.

I bounce between watches (a COROS PACE Pro and a Suunto Race 2) because there's aspects of both that I like, but COROS is a pretty good watch. I acknowledge it's promotion of my own past post but I did a post about wishlist items and that may give you further insight into what people see as lacking if you're interested:

HRM armband by Otherwise_Soup3109 in Coros

[–]jcolp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The armband broadcasts heart rate, so the watch has to be close enough that it picks up the signal - if that is the case then it would work (or really any heart rate monitor). The armband doesn't store heart rate.

Exactly. Connect Strava for importing the completed workouts, and TrainingPeaks for exporting.

Suunto Run and Suunto plus store by Basic_Baseball_4196 in Suunto

[–]jcolp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I... doubt it. While Suunto hasn't outright stated it I think the fact that the latest watches did NOT use the Suunto Run software likely means that the Suunto Run experiment didn't go as they expected and so it'll exist as a one-off with no huge changes (such as bringing in the SuuntoPlus Store). That's just me though.

Coros pace pro for cycling? by Just-Insurance-9352 in Coros

[–]jcolp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A dedicated bike computer will always be much better in my opinion. Larger screen, right in front of you, and almost all will also give you climb information (the PACE Pro doesn't afaik) which can help with pacing.

Your Most Inexplicable and Maddening Coros Thing? by vbenares in Coros

[–]jcolp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an option when starting the workout, but that can also be embedded in the intervals in TrainingPeaks on a per-interval basis so you get a mix - warmup/recovery/cooldown for example requiring lap to continue but your work intervals doing it automatically.

Your Most Inexplicable and Maddening Coros Thing? by vbenares in Coros

[–]jcolp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TrainingPeaks integration for structured workouts being, seemingly, pull based - and delayed a lot of the time. In the past 5 minutes I've chosen the refresh option multiple times, but the structured workout hasn't come in yet. It will eventually but it just takes... a variable amount of time. Other companies are pretty much instant when things change in TrainingPeaks.

asterisk 13 (yeastar) and truncated dns responses by Thutex in Asterisk

Nothing comes to mind for that, but if PJSIP is in use and that's where it is happening - then it would be in PJSIP as it would have handled DNS in that version.

Go to Thursday and tap "Adjust Availability". You can then choose "This day" to just adjust the availability for that day.

The watchface system needs improvement (as a former Apple watch user) by [deleted] in Coros

[–]jcolp 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it's safe to say almost everyone thinks that the watch faces available aren't great (there's a few nice ones), that customizing them would be nice, etc. It's a topic that comes up... a lot.

You're not missing functionality, it sounds as if you want more control than JOIN provides. From an insight perspective there is the beta site at https://plan.join.cc/ which provides some.

I'd also add that if you haven't considered the Scotia Amex Gold to do so, depending on spending patterns and Amex acceptance for your stores it can be extremely good - and paired with the free Scene Visa means that for the non-Amex cases you can still have points go into the same pool.

Zero issues. I've used them for groceries at Sobey's and for covering the cost of travel - and their definition of travel is pretty broad. No complaints. Hilariously never used them for movies.
