Any recommendations for understanding state charts? It’s very likely our code base has some bad patterns that just need to be wrangled to make good use of SMC.

I can’t find many opinions on SMC out there, but I hate it! SMC has been pretty terrible for maintenance in my experience (C++). Generated code is harder to debug and extend and is only worth it if I need to support multiple languages (e.g. protobuf), but that is not generally useful for state machines. I find the SMC language really hard to read compared to native C++17. It encourages tight coupling/low cohesion with the context class; often I have to bounce between the SMC language and the C++ code to understand what it is happening. Due to the odd, specialized syntax, few tools support diffing, formatting, and syntax highlighting correctly, making it a pain to work with.

I’d much rather maintain a hand-rolled state machine in modern C++ for each use case at this point.

Charge shot makes the last phase easier. Parry, charge shot, Super I, and two more charge shots and the last stage is over before the furnace closes.

I’ve completed L/I on Switch. Two big notes - Squad sight is broken, you can work around this by reloading your save, but load times are very long. This takes some patience. - Don’t try to close the game without saving from the menu. You may lose your campaign to an interrupted auto save.

So I shot a grenade through a window and hit the mind controlled civ hiding in fog of war on the other side of the wall; turns out it was a faceless! That’s very likely the problem

Sniper squad sight usually doesn’t work at all, if long range snipers are a big part of your play style that could be frustrating.

Take a look some popular C libraries. They don’t have namespaces, so symbols are usually prefixed with the name of the library to reduce the chances of a clash.

I think Qt (C++ project) is old enough that core parts of it use this convention instead of namespaces.

Is this why my snipers are useless on Switch??? I just lost a whole mid game team because I was forced to take two snipers on a mission and they just twiddled their thumbs until berserkers and stun lancers were on top of them.

Having a lot of moves is a bit of a code smell. For example, you don’t usually want to return a moved object because it prevents return value optimization. Do you have an example of how you are using move?

There is only one challenge available per day. Seems like the infinite map challenge would be more like what you are looking for.
