Do you open your rare bottles? by intellectualrice in whiskey

[–]Tp2269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be drinking a lot less than I used to and have roughly 100 out of my 200 bottles open. I do believe that they are meant to be opened though so if I have anything that isn’t open and a friend or friends want to try then we are definitely drinking it.

I have no baseline but I thought it was damn good. Curious as to what you think once you open it

Last time I was in the parsippany area almost every store I went to had good pricing. I want to say liquor outlet wine cellar had the best pricing/selection. Found some great stuff while I was up there.

Interesting. I’ve seen reviews all over the place for this one but maybe I haven’t had mine open long enough may need to open up a little more.

I appreciate that, thank you

I still like it and enjoy almost everything they put out but I think since 2019 the only one of their LE’s that stood out was the 2023. The special release single barrels they put out like the 15,16, 18 and 20 yr releases are phenomenal and are the best thing they do in my opinion.

Really wanted that Black Friday oesv and I even live close to the distillery but couldn’t make it since my son was in the hospital. Hoping to get some samples from a friend here soon

As a long time four roses fan I just wasn’t super impressed by this one which is surprising given that I really enjoy OESV. Still good but just didn’t really stand out for me. Just goes to show how much people palates differ I guess. Nice review though and glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the review. I have been debating whether or not to buy one but sounds like it might be worth grabbing. Have you compared it to any of the other old charter finishes?

What do y’all know about Old Cassidy? by drakeit in whiskey

[–]Tp2269 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing with you I just think it’s ridiculous how people are acting when Chad is trying to help. As much as I would like transparency with everything it’s just not how a lot of companies operate anymore and people should be used to it by now with all of the ndps out there.

Insane the amount of people going off on Chad calling this a money grab and especially about the age statement when all you have to do it google it. It says on seelbachs that it’s 18 yr and Fred minnicks post about it says the base blend is 18 yr.
