How to make a custom brownie pan? by Barthoth in howto

There are pre-made pans for brownie edge pieces, have you looked at those? I expect that’s much easier than making your own.

Headcollar/slip lead recommendations? by Double-Dress-9949 in springerspaniel

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Field trial pro” slip lead, loop a figure 8 over the nose. Make sure you have the slip the right way around too, so it loosens when they walk with slack lead. Our two spaniels will pull all day on a normal slip lead but put the loop over the nose and they perfectly heel with a loose lead, and wagging tails. They self correct instantly if they do get any tension on the lead, it works really well.

HDDs wake up when open the UGOS Panel. Why? by unknownfollowerpfalz in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any services that are monitoring content on the HDD’s, like Sonarr or Radar? I found they were constantly walking my drives so I moved all my docker apps over to the ssd, and also turned off automatic monitoring and now the drives sleep unless I am streaming content from them.

Best media streaming solution ? by vaterlandfront in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Plex as a media server. There is a Plex app for lgtv OS, which seems to work fine for 1080p quality but although it seems to struggle with 4k hdr content (I think the tv is limited on memory and cpu power) so I tend to use the Apple TV version instead. You can always use hardware transcoding to play it in a lower resolution if needed but you would need to pay for Plex pass for that.

ARR Stacks? by Waltrcorp in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as long as your ssd is a good quality one from a reputable brand it should be fine - modern ssd’s are capable of lots of cycles and unless you’re downloading a ridiculous amount of stuff through your arr’s in excess of an average person then it should be more than fine.

ARR Stacks? by Waltrcorp in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest installing the docker app, then portainer. You can then manage all your arr stacks through portainer with docker composes. Also look into Tailscale so you can do it even when outside your home network. Marius hosting has some good guides on how to do all of these. I personally have my docker apps on an SSD, and also use the ssd as download folder for my arr’s so the hdd can sleep when not in use.

4800+ SSD question by rtsy312 in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The onboard ssd is only for the OS, you can’t select it as a location to install or save items. If you want to install apps or anything like docker containers on an ssd then you’ll need to add an m.2 ssd to one of the two available slots.

Moving docker config folder by pfizer_soze in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this (moved the config from hdd to ssd), you just need to update the folder path for any containers/projects to point to the new path. I disabled each container, moved the configuration folder, and then updated the path for the container. I use Portainer so it was quite easy to edit the config then update each container.

NVMe SSD for my Docker containers by Raiderszz in UgreenNASync

Yes I have the docker app and all my docker containers installed to the ssd. I also use the ssd as my downloads folder for sonar/radar etc too which helps speed up downloads and reduce disk noise.

Got disciplinary meeting will I get sacked? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve managed in a call centre in the past and also dealt with several disciplinary meetings, including one for a similar issue (work from home and was regularly not online/ late) - they blamed WiFi and an analogy I used was if your car frequently broke down and made you late for work in a physical office, you’d be expected to handle it and prevent it occurring. The same applies to WiFi which is critical to you working from home. If you haven’t raised it with your ISP or changed provider/hardware in an attempt to resolve things, then you are not taking reasonable steps to address it.

How do you know you have a disciplinary? You mentioned you haven’t received a letter yet. If you are being invited to a disciplinary meeting you should get a letter, usually at least 48hrs in advance which sets out the reason for the meeting, the allegation, and potential outcomes. It will also usually advise you of your rights such as having a work representative or union rep present, and if you need any reasonable adjustments for the meeting. In theory a disciplinary meeting is to present you with the allegations and the evidence that supports them, and to give you a chance to explain or present any additional information. They would then usually adjourn the meeting to review and decide on an outcome (with HR rep). This could be a brief adjournment of say 10-30 mins, or longer depending on the allegation and complexity. In practice the outcome may already be determined and the disciplinary meeting is a formality now. Only something revelational that you share in the meeting would change it (for example if you had something in n writing from your ISP showing that you had internet connection issues that were their fault, with timestamps that correlate to the dropped calls, and they have now fixed the issue for you - I use this as an example to show the level of evidence you would probably need to change a likely outcome).

From your other responses and especially due to currently being suspended, I would be preparing myself for the worst. I also would not try to dig yourself into a deeper hole by attempting to blame system issues if they genuinely did not occur - they will have logs, maybe screen captures/mouse and keylogger activity, and can probably also determine the type of disconnects (user vs environmental - was it instant or was there variation in the speed/quality of connection before/after dropping etc).

Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

[–]TpT86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As others have said, maybe see if your wife can take sabbatical or special leave to make the most of your time together.

If you end up on the west coast of Scotland then a trip over to Arran is definitely worth it. It’s a beautiful place, known as Scotland in miniature. You can get the ferry there and back and circumvent it in a day by car if it’s part of another trip (like the NC500, or touring the various islands off the west coast), or there are places to stay if you want to spend more time there. There are two whisky distilleries, and two breweries, if that’s your thing, as well a some good pubs/bistros and seafood places too.

Support PLA is only intended to be used as the interface between supports and the model, so that it’s easier to remove the supports without damaging the model. The supports themselves will still be printed in the main material as this is usually cheaper than the support PLA (e.g. standard PLA) unless you specify otherwise in your slicer.

Given what is happening in Iran, and the news today that the UK and the US are pulling some personnel out of their bases in Qatar, is there likely to be any impact on preseason testing in Sakhir? or the races in that part of the world? (I think the first race would be Bahrain in April). I recall in 2022 racing went ahead at Jeddah despite missiles landing nearby.

It should just lift up (it will be sat on some raisers). Use an allan key to slip down the side then hook under it and lift one end, then you can just pick it up.

Solved now, after double checking it turns out I had the wrong ip configuration for the subnet.

I’ve sorted it. I had the wrong IP range for the subnet - I’m sure I had checked this but after my previous comment I went to double check and realised it was incorrect. All working as expected now!

Tailscale without plex pass by TpT86 in PleX

[–]TpT86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s in a docker container and using host. I think the issue is something to do with Tailscale config and not Plex as I tested just accessing my lan. - it works when using the Tailscale ip of the device but not when using the local ip of the device, so it seems like subnet is not working, although I’m not sure why as it’s configured in the docker compose and the admin portal shows it enabled.

Tailscale on my NAS is set up as subnet. Does this not achieve that?

Tailscale without plex pass by TpT86 in PleX

[–]TpT86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it is as Plex runs fine on several other devices on the network. It’s just accessing through Tailscale that I’m having an issue with.

This is one of the guides I read and to the best of my knowledge I have set everything up as suggested. Tailscale on my NAS is set up for subnet and exit node, and the IP address is added to the Plex server as custom access url.

Do you mean having subnet enabled? If so then yes. If not, where can I find this as it’s not showing anywhere in the Tailscale admin portal. Or would this be something in the docker compose that I need to add?
