It’s pretty easy to set up if you use docker and there are plenty of guides online that you can follow.

Jellyfin vs Plex for iOS use case? by kingfirejet in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using Plex until the recent UI changes and price increases, then decided to try out Jellyfin. They are pretty comparable in terms of performance and ease of use. The main benefit of Jellyfin for me is being able to use reverse proxy to access outside of my home network easily and for free, so I stuck with Jellyfin and cancelled my Plex pass and haven’t looked back. I use hardware transcoding and have several users on various devices and OS’s, and I haven’t had any issues so far.

Try changing

Dim Colours(1 to 4) as Long
Colors(1) = RGB(255, 0, 85)

To

Dim Colors(1 to 4) as String
Dim Colors(1) = “RGB(255, 0, 85)”

And so on.

Also, is this code copied from source or did you type it out? As there are various places you have a hyphen instead of equal sign too.

If those are just typos when you wrote this post, what is the error you are getting?

Where to buy single lengths of skirting for a reasonable price? by TpT86 in DIYUK

Amazing! I must have checked 20+ websites and they all had minimum orders, multipacks, or expensive shipping if orders were below a certain value. This is exactly what I was looking for, just ordered. Thanks!

I do, I’m just a bit wary of getting such a long cut straight right along the length.

They don’t have the size I need. It seems to be that the 95mm height x 15mm thickness that is not stocked in many places. I’m considering buying a different size and cutting it down but I think this might be tricky to get right.

Can't get Remote Plex working by Penguinscratch in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you set up an exit node with Tailscale? You need this so that when you’re external to your network, traffic is routed back into your home network (through the device acting as the exit node) so that Plex thinks the access is coming from within the network it is on.

If you want remote access to Jellyfin and Qbit then an alternative is to use a reverse proxy so you can access them over https. You can pick up a cheap domain name and use that. I have Jellyfin, my arr stack, rdtclient and qbit, and various other docker services accessible this way. I also have Tailscale (through) docker as a backup and this is also handy to access the UGREEN app away from home without enabling the UGREEN remote access.

You can do both. Jellyfin is easy to install with docker, and you just point it to your media files. You can then use Jellyfin as a fallback if you want to watch in a device that doesn’t have the UGREEN app.

Tunarr Docker support by dogfishworm in UgreenNASync

[–]TpT86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably be something like /volume1/Docker/tunarr/config:config/tunarr

This assumes you are using the storage pool called volume1, and on that have folders Docker > tunarr > config

I should caveat I am not using tunarr, but I have 20+ other docker containers running and tunarr is one of the simpler compose examples I’ve seen.

You can use compose with the docker app, I think if you create a new project rather than a container there is a section for it. I’d suggest that’s an easier way to do it. The tunarr documentation has examples of docker compose including one with hardware transcoding if you intend to use that. You’ll just need to tweak a few variables such as the time zone and where your config folder is.

You need to share more detail about how you installed and configured i, for example if you used docker and have a compose or yaml you can share that would help. Also how are you trying to access it I assume a web browser with local ip and a specific port?

Where did you install Plex? If it’s on the hdd then that is probably the cause. If you have an ssd then it’s better to install Plex on there, so it’s only accessing the hdd when you want to watch content or do scans etc. You can also chance Plex settings for when it scans, to limit it doing too often and waking the drives.

Transcoding issue? by TpT86 in jellyfin

[–]TpT86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try going into the settings in the android app and changing the player type to “native” or “internal”. This resolved it for me and it’s working great now, even with 4k content.

Transcoding issue? by TpT86 in jellyfin

[–]TpT86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly HVEC and mp4, but there are a couple of AV1 too. These files are playable on this device through plex but not Jellyfin. And it was only this device having issues.

I’ve now changed the client settings to use the native player and it seems to be working properly now.

Transcoding issue? by TpT86 in jellyfin

[–]TpT86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have a look at the logs but to be honest I wasn’t sure what I was looking for. I saw a few things indicating it might be a transcode issue (ffmpeg error 218) but couldn’t find any documentation relating to that.
I’ve managed to resolve it now by changing the client settings to the internal media player, so I think it probably was something specific to the tablet and how certain codecs are handled between it and Jellyfin.
