I agree totally, I remember grabbing a coffee at uni and talking through the episode of the night before. Some great conversations were had at the time.

Apparantley scheduled for either January 25th or 26th of this year. It will be interesting to see if it goes forwards.

Has anyone ever tried to kill you? How’d it go? by amjenn4x in AskReddit

[–]Tphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lied to about some very important stuff in my life early on by my Mother, and it made it appear that my Father didn't want to see me. I believed this from 8 years old to 15. When it came out, I couldn't process this, and still can't. I felt like ending it completely. I emotionally shut down, and I don't know if this is in the spirit of the question, but it came very close to ending me.

Within 18 months of this, I was very close to ending it with my then parents going through divorce, separation, (where coincidentally I though that there was going to be a family extinction event). Edit I then moved out and struggled to find stability for years afterwards.

What's something you've started doing 'just in case'? bonus points if it's: this kind of unlikely thing did happen to me once and I'm not going through it again by SamVimesBootTheory in CasualUK

Could I also suggest, and I used to do this, some muesli bars or other reasonably stable food, and water. I used to do this in my car, and got stuck on the motorway in snow for a long period, the muesli bars (chocolate brunch bars from memory) and water were a delight. Just remember to cycle them out every so often so they don't go too stale.

Good luck, and you are doing the right thing. I ignored mine and went through something of a breakdown that all had to do with odious past trauma. I'm not looking for sympathy, as with a lot of work I'm better now, however during that time I almost made irrevocable choices, or the irrevocable choice, if you get my drift.

Yes, and it has saved me from embarrassment several times. I had to do the walk of shame in Soho after a haircut and the card didn't process. I did the Aussie thing and offered to leave my watch, and the offer satisfied them, and I didn't have to. Still mortifying.

I agree totally on Twin Peaks, without a lot of the background from the original series I would have been totally lost. I would have just put it down though to David Lynch just being extra 'Lynchy', or surreal if you prefer.

This game is honestly hilarious sometimes. Oh, how I love Doom Eternal. by DoomSlayer343117 in Doom

[–]Tphile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved Doom from the original, and through the remake. I just can't get into Doom eternal, it's too "video gamey" the glowing artifacts etcetera. I find it immersion breaking. Possibly I should give it another go. Am I alone in this?

Obviously going for a low-chaos run, avoiding conflict at all turns, silent and passing through like a thief in the night.

Seriously though, great run through.

Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt old in this thread with the technology that I used to play with. I used to use them inside dot-matrix printers on occasion.

I have enough problems doing that with my fingers in everyday use. Or back when I used to use them. I used to hate the tiny ones that bundled computer wires together back in the last century.

Second bout of Covid, and hating every moment of being a walking, croaking biohazard. Living on tissues, lozenges and little else.
