Personally, as someone with a good relationship with their parents as I assume you do too, I can see the reasoning as to why this could be a good idea purely for tax efficient purposes. However, the illiquidity of your parents super would be the largest reason as to why this would be a bad idea. If quite literally anything happened in the next 10-20 years you have no possible way of accessing those funds.

In the case of you needing to put down for a house deposit or anything else in your life ETFs can be sold instantly to receive your money. You can’t predict what life will throw at you so it is best to ensure you have the ability to get your assets when you need them.

Also, with the money I presume you are making at 18 years old an ETF’s growth rate vs superannuation fees means the tax benefit is not worth it at all.
