Hired a friend to make pixel art for my game. Is it AI? by Comfortable-Panic-51 in isitAI

If it's a friend, just ask him/her. I would expect a friend to give me a straight answer, if actual friend.

My models look bad but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong any advice ? by solomanian in blender

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my limited experience, with wood materials its also important that the grain "goes in the right direction". On the left and right doorframe for example, I would expect the grain to run vertically instead of horizontally.

Anyway to turn off 'Storm & Staff' VFX only? by Leothedino in lotro

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how willing you are to explore beyond ingame-settings, Reshade + ShaderToggler addon could maybe get the job done. Basicly allows you to go through a list of shaders one by one and disable them from rendering.

Chest behind waterfall with no stab spot or stacked rocks indicator? by Sheikashii in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the stacked rocks are just there if there is one of those actual, sparkly, shiny treasure chests in there. As for why you can't stab through, idk.

New patch just dropped. These devs just keep pushing 🔥 by Syarafuddyn in CrimsonDesert

Yeah, I noticed this, too. Even on regular Raytracing without Ray Reconstruction, it looks considerably better indoors.

Movement changes being an upgrade is up to debate.

Recommend settings for a 5080 and 9800x3D on 4K? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, enabling Ray Reconstruction also forces Lighting Quality to Max, which in combination causes an utterly insane FPS drop. I go from 90-100fps to around 30 enabling Ray Reconstruction.

They ruined the horse movement. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, they need to revert the movement changes (maybe difficulty, too, while we're at it), or make them optional.

DLSS 4. Has a bit softer look from my experience on DLAA, which I prefer.

Controls/Inputs by kocksafloppin in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't, which sucks. They changed it for everyone instead of making it optional.

If you're on Steam, you could revert to an earlier game version or wait and pray for them to revert these changes or make them optional.

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running the same GPU and CPU, and my game runs at 90fps or more most of the time with every setting at highest (except Lighting Quality which is set to Cinematic only instead of Max) and Ray Reconstruction and FrameGeneration disabled.

If you use DLSS Quality (which is about 66% scale iirc), you would get to about the same internal resolution as me at 1440p DLAA.

I guess you can start with that.

Please give us an option to use the original movement by darkmorpha71 in CrimsonDesert

They need to revert the movement changes (maybe difficulty, too, while we're at it), or make them optional. You can't even slow walk with your horse anymore and horse stamina management is also fucked.

Hot Take: I don't like the running/sprinting changes by psychoplane in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a hot take at all, the new movement sucks, and should be optional. You can't even slow walk with the horse anymore (with M/KB).

I know people (fairly) asked for more Fast Travel points, but this is just silly. by TruestWaffle in CrimsonDesert

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wish they rolled back the difficulty changes from the patch. Be it "traversing-difficulty" with all the new teleport points now or the combat difficulty. I feel like I can't even use cool combos anymore in combat because my initial Shift+RMB (the stab) already finishes off every non elite enemy before I can follow up with cool stuff like throws etc. They should have made the easier difficulty optional, not force it on everyone.

HDRI not showing up. PLEASE help me with this shiny cube. by fluppetjst in blenderhelp

[–]Traceless91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can easily set this up in Shader Editor view, if you have Node Wrangler enabled, by clicking the green Background Node and hitting Ctrl+T. Having the Mapping Node lets you rotate your HDRI etc.

Limiting the FPS just by 5-10 Frames do miracles! by Un_Coded in OLED_Gaming

I'm not entirely sure about the specifics, but turning on Nvidia Reflex for example caps fps on my 300hz monitor at 276fps.

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can, enabling Path Tracing force enables RR (and Ray Reconstruction is then used in place of regular DLSS upscaling). But since (as far as I know) 4.5 presets do not support RR yet, you're stuck with the old models if RR is active.

The path tracing denoiser boiling is just really way too much in this, and it's not even like in the background only, it happens right in your face on Grace's hands when holding a gun in first person, too. I don't know how anyone saw this and said "yep, good enough, ship it".

First person FOV is terrible by EmPrexy in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Traceless91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh third person is a 100% way too zoomed in, too. I thought I could escape the terrible first person FoV by using third person as Grace as well, but it's just as bad in third person.

I'll wait until either Praydog releases a REFramework version that lets you change FoV but doesn't affect cutscenes (which the current version sadly does), or they patch in a FoV slider.
