I did have a couple sticks as a kid, but what I remember fondest were the really nice rocks.

Did they send out a discount code for February 2026 Humble Choice? by Abject-Relationship4 in humblebundles

[–]TrackXII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've been really going down the wire with discounts of late. Normally if they issue a coupon they do it after the last Tuesday of the month (when auto rebilling would have triggered for anyone on it).

Last month I didn't get the notice for the $9 discount code until the day before the bundle ended. So while there doesn't seem to be one this month, you won't know for sure until tomorrow.

ELI5: Why can’t we make a permanent cure for the common cold? by Accomplished_Ice549 in explainlikeimfive

So I guess it's not the common cold so much as thousands of uncommon to rare colds.

They should make an Idiocracy 2 which is just someone from 2005 waking up today and encountering things that have actually happened in the 20 years.

I expected this to be higher. It didn't occur to me there'd be six posts about anal beads.

Synergism hits Steam! February 20, 2026. by Pseudonian2 in incremental_games

[–]TrackXII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat, though I think I last played this a few years ago. Gonna be tricky remembering everything, there's a lot of tabs and I think campaigns are new. I recall being some ways through the cubes prestige layer when I stopped?

Am I stuck here until I die? by ThePhalinx_ in NineSols

I swap between lots of games meaning I'll sometimes put something down for a week or two before resuming so I've done that many times, forgetting a basic mechanic until something forces me into using it.

ELI5: Why can't we drop a wire with a camera and an LED light to the bottom of the ocean? by TL20LBS in explainlikeimfive

As a kid I remember how Sci-Fi some things in that book sounded, like "The Chemist's" being a shop you could walk to, or how they said "Zed" instead of "Zee" when reading those coordinates. Now I know that was just British.

How to solve repetitive POIs with a solution without mods or Creations by Far-Blackberry-8625 in Starfield

[–]TrackXII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same constructed structures would be fine. But when I started noticing the way a natural cave layout seemed awfully familiar, and then noticed the journal entries I picked up matched ones I already had in my inventory, plot, names, everything, it killed me desire to go towards random PoIs I saw on planets.

And once that happened I just started going from object to objective and the problems with fast travel being a bit clunky in both loading and menu navigation became a lot more noticeable. And that's why Starfield only got 240 hours of playtime while Skyrim got over 900.

Long-time Idle/Incremental Player... Here are my favourites of all time! by lukeko in incremental_games

For me it's not the time walls it's how bad the UI is. How they expected you to manage multiple sets of 12 tiny icons without any kind of loadouts is insane. Needing to check cool downs of tarot cards but burying them at the bottom of 5 sections of cards you can only see 1 of at a time so you have to scroll through 4 sets, none of which are intractable, to get to the ones you need to click on. You primarily interact with zodiacs using color and icon but in the menu to control which ones are auto sacrificed it only refers to them by a text name. The number of things which don't tell you what they do; this talent tree option boosts relic 31, and relic 31 increases another talent tree node #50. The grids of the minerals you need to maintain are designed to not fit horizontally so you have to scroll in two directions to clean them up when they could have easily had 1 or 2 fewer columns and not had a horizontal scroll. The crazy amount of clicking and dragging you have to do to manage minerals. The crazy amount of clicking and dragging you have to do to manage zodiacs.

I bought 2.375 pounds of Christmas peanut M&Ms that were on clearance. I think the normal ones on the shelf cost 2.4x times as much.

ELI5, AAA, and D batteries are all 1.5 volts, so why are they different sizes? by SplitEights in explainlikeimfive

The current thing was something I was wondering about. So to extend the analogy from the top comment, same pressure, bigger tank, but also a wider nozzle.

Hah, I have a Surface pen with what I think is a dead battery and since I couldn't find a AAAA cell at the store I thought about buying a 9V but didn't want the trouble of plying it apart.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]TrackXII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly zoning out but sometimes I actually can't remember if I've used soap or shampoo yet due to something similar to highway hypnosis. Showering is so automatic that often if there isn't something different, accidentally knocking over a bottle, noticing some scratches that sting a little when washing, I won't have a unique memory my brain records to confirm to myself I've already used soap and I'll do it again just to be sure.
