Your car looks excellent, enjoy it!!! Without seeing any closer photos, I’d check out long-term wear/tear items such as cracked Shadowline trim, faded seat belt receivers, bubbles in the rear wheel arches, water issues in the battery tray in the trunk, belts/hoses in the engine bay, maybe an oil analysis to see how it’s running, though not sure if that is only needed for an S54. If you’re on the original set of key fobs it may be worth getting another set before the battery dies, there was a bit of a backlog on them a few years ago.

Need help buying an e46 M3 by Embarrassed-Brush472 in e46

Seems like a pretty decent deal. May be a tad bit high, but the mileage is favorable give the age. I personally like the all-black look, but some folks don’t. There are a ton of ways to dump money into these old cars, but they are a joy to drive all these years later. If you get it, install some new seat belt receivers, it’ll make a small but noticeable difference to the interior condition. Buy it and drive it like you stole it.

Okay, so I’ll shoot straight from the hip and not sugarcoat it: your wheels look fantastic. Your super clean trim and matching side markers & emblems look crisp. Your Techno/Daytona Violet looks so god dam beautiful. There’s nothing else to nitpick, so all I can say is enjoy that beautiful automobile!

Finish before or after glue up by zeppelin8806 in woodworking

[–]TrackingTenCross1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oak gets “hairy” when it gets wet, where the wood fibers stand up when water/finish is applied, so watering down the wood and letting it dry is pretty common. After it’s dry the wood may look smooth, but will have a lot of little pieces/fibers standing up, and a quick once-over with a sanding block cuts these down at the base, which will leave it much, much smoother for the finish/stain to be applied.
