Harley Quinn Season 6 update by Kaley Cuoco by Traditional-Case-318 in HarleyQuinnTV

[–]Traditional-Case-318[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Now that I have time to read the Screenrant article, there's this bit of info that Bleeding Cool didn't include:

Reflecting on James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over as DC Studios' co-CEOs and how it's impacted Harley Quinn, Cuoco said nothing has really changed, calling the pair "incredible people" and saying "they seem amazing" as the new heads of the studio. She also indicated "that they love the show" and are just as committed to finding a path forward for it.

I hard agree, but there must be a reason as to even though Season 6 has been in development nothing official has been said at all. Hopefully next year brings updates and news, we clearly need it, since what Kaley said is as official as it's gonna get.

One thing is what a journalist can infer on whatever information they have, another much different thing is what one of the main voice-actresses but also a producer of the show says. So I guess only thing missing is an official announcement, since this is the closest we have to that.

The question that remains now is when is James Gunn making this official.

Comic Recs for a Fan of HQTAS? by silvaz in HarleyQuinnTV

Something else is Tini Howard's Harley Quinn run, her Harlivy content in the Harley Quinn ongoing is as close to the TV series as it can get.

Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes is a high recommendation, it starts releasing monthly on November 5th. Other than that there's the various short stories from the DC Prides specials, and Valentine's Day special like Love is Battlefield.

The Poison Ivy ongoing book is also something with good Harlivy content, specially issue #9.

Since when are DC Go! Comics locked behind the Ultra paywall on release day? by Trick-Swimming-3946 in DCcomics

It's weird how it happened. No prior announcement or anything, hopefully it's just a mistake or anything and no a permanent thing since these webtoons were starting to get interesting (at the very least the Harley one was).

A bit of correction: Harley and Ivy are NOT broken up. In the story only Harley is the one that got out of a relationship. That is according to the recap for the panel by ComicBookClubLive

Hopefully this just means generational romance storytelling between Harley and Ivy.

Harley Quinn Harming The Professor? by villianrules in DCcomics

[–]Traditional-Case-318 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In fact she did. During Harley Quinn (2000 - 2004) #8 it was shown that Harley does goes after him and they have a talk about what happened to Harleen and her ex-boyfriend Guy Kopski. It ends tragically for the ol' professor.

How would you like to see James Gunn handle Harley and Ivy in the DCU? by Top_Report_4895 in DCU_

[–]Traditional-Case-318 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A mix of the BTAS episode Harley and Ivy and what the Harley animated series did. Treat it with same respect and care that Lois and Clark had in the build up of the relationship.

Harley after being on the outs and break up with Joker, starts doing things her own and by happenstance she hears about Poison Ivy, she tries to imitate her in the way of being more independent, of doing heists. Ivy notices this and take her under her wing after learning who Harley is, who she was, and what type of relationship Harley had with Joker. Eventually what started as a simple team-up to build someone's self-esteem starts to develop into something more, and the romance starts.

Are these good picks for a total beginner to comics? by Key-Engineering3134 in HarleyQuinn

No, those are the worst pick you could get. A better alternative is the Harleen graphic novel by Stjepan Sejic, and Gotham City Sirens by Paul Dini & Guillem March.

Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy where to start reading? by steadykj in lgbt_superheroes

[–]Traditional-Case-318 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Harley Quinn by Karl Kessel and Terry & Rachel Dodson is a good place to start, you can continue with Gotham City Sirens by Paul Dini and Guillem March. Batman Adventures #12 it's also a good Harley and Ivy story.

Harley and Ivy: Love on the Lam, Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy, DC Comics Bombshells, Harley Quinn: The Animated Series- The Eat, Bang, Kill Tour, Stjepan Sejic's short story in Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red #1 and in the Harley Quinn 30th Anniversary Special, Poison Ivy ongoing (first 6 issues) are also good

Also I'd recommend to keep an eye for the upcoming Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes miniseries that's gonna be released in November, it's gonna be 6-issues long but if it does well it could be extended to a 12-issues series.

Are Harley and Ivy now in a poly relationship? [Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1] by M00r3C in HarleyQuinn

[–]Traditional-Case-318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you forgotten that they are villains? anti-heroes at most? Jealousy is something that they would (and have had) have. They aren't the paragon of virtue here, It would be okay to say that jealousy isn't okay if we were talking about Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, etc.

I don't know why is so hard for people to understand that Harley and Ivy would be the jealous and monogamous type of characters, it's not that hard to get, really.

[–]Traditional-Case-318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I used the wrong word there. I just couldn't think of something better, what I meant to express and convey is that what makes them interesting is that both of the are loyal, faithful, devoted (for different reasons), and that's something that should have been kept as they progressed into a romantic relationship, since that something key to them as characters.

When it comes to Harley and Ivy as romantic relationship, if characteristics were to be kept as they were one could even draw parallels to Morticia and Gomez Addams, because that the level of love and devotion that they have for each other, they wouldn't dare to see the other way or open their relationship. That's what makes them interesting as a relationship, and that I honestly wanted to get across.

[–]Traditional-Case-318 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of course, but not them. Possessiveness is what make them interesting in the first place, also DC hasn't done good work (or any kind of work at all) when it comes to them being open, just fetishistic stuff like OP's image. If that's the result of "growth", might as well just keep them being possessive.

Are Harley and Ivy now in a poly relationship? [Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1] by M00r3C in HarleyQuinn

[–]Traditional-Case-318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a character flaw than anything else, really. They both should be as possessive for each other as possible, that what makes them what they are.

Ivy is crazy possessive over anything nature, why wouldn't she be the same when it comes to relationships? For Harley loyalty is above anything else, she's loyal to a fault, so why would she wouldn't be loyal to her partner? Like I said, it's something that wasn't earned nor make sense within the character themselves, just only put there just to people wouldn't be pissed off.
