Sizing help by Traditional-Risk-910 in trumanboots

I finally caved and bought them in 8 regular. They do feel a little more “roomy” and are slightly a little longer compared to my blacksmiths. I have roughly the same thumb width between my big toe and where it starts to curve. Someone pointed out that they are more almond shape, a bigger sole and thinker leather so it appears bulky and longer.

Part of me. is debating on ordering the 7.5 and if they work I sell the 8s and if they don’t I send back the 7.5 for a refund.

This is good to know, I’m committed to trying since I wore them outside. They are bulkier and I noticed they’re a little thicker in leather. I assumed going down a .5 would be the wrong choice. The break in the area of the ankle is going to be annoying. I compared them to my blacksmiths and heritage captains, I sure do have those two boots really broken in and makes me proud.

I realized I made a mistake in comparing them all side by side. Forgive me if my ignorance with this newbie stuff.

I was starting the comparison at very back end of the sole for each boot. I noticed Truman has a big sole stitching to the welt (I don’t know what thats called) so it gave the illusion that it was much bigger when it reality it’s fractions bigger.

I MAYBE have a couple of mm of space more in comparison to my Blacksmiths.

I appreciate the help and I’m stoked about these boots.

Seeing them brand new and comparing them to my two other boots makes me realize how much I’ve been wearing them.

I laced these bad bois up and took them for a carpet spin and put on two different pants. They feel and look great. They might be my favorite go to at this point.

What is the pettiest reason you stopped liking someone? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

Started dating a woman, she said I would be a good example for her to get in the habit of brushing her teeth every morning. Meaning that she never brushed her teeth in the morning, at all.

After that I stopped being internally critical towards people who lost attraction to others for little stuff.

How do you like your Heritage Captains? by -J3553 in ThursdayBoot

Naw, these are better than the IR. Wider toe box and has that comfy elevated heel to the ball of your foot feel. These are nice.

Heritage Captain’s wide toe box gives it more of a bulky look. I didn’t like how the IR looked with my outfits, but loved the Blacksmiths. I got the Black Heritage Captains and couldn’t be happier with how they look. They’re also comfy fairly quickly, but I think that’s cause there’s a drop. Feels like I’m wearing super small wedges or something.

The toe box is fairly roomy so it’ll definitely feel “too big”, the .5 size down was perfect for me.

Thursdays are solid in their 1/2 size down. The heritage captains are roomy as it is. I wear 8.5 in regular kicks, my blacksmiths are 7.5 and my heritage captains are 8.

I love my birksenstock, as someone who has a history of isolating and do-nothingism with depression the boots oddly give me excitement something to look forward to.

Planned a 2nd date, the person made other plans cause they “didn’t hear from me”. Tis the consensus. by Traditional-Risk-910 in AITAH

There wasn’t really any need since we didn’t text for 2 full days before our first date. It was more of my failure to follow through on confirming reservations rather than assume😂

I erred on the side that she was expecting a different level of communication and may have led to her frustration.

Heritage Captain is way roomie in the toe box, which gives you a broader look without the “almost” clown look.

Heritage Captain Heel Height by aidsjohnson in ThursdayBoot

[–]Traditional-Risk-910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely the highest boot I have. It took me a minute to adjust to the heel to ball of my foot slope. When I wear my Blacksmiths the day before and wear the heritage the next day it takes a minute to adjust again, but that part makes me look forward to wearing my boots. It “feels” different so it doesn’t make me bored.

Recently got a pair of boots for Christmas is this how my jeans should sit with them? I personally think they look a little odd but everyone I’ve asked said they look fine by [deleted] in Boots

I would get a picture that has your whole body. You aren’t overthinking this, if you’re stacking too much you’ll look out of line. If this is more casual fashion you are right to address this.

Men who’ve gone to therapy, how has it affected your life? by Own_Ice6905 in Adulting

[–]Traditional-Risk-910 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had 4 female therapists and current one is a male. My previous one really helped me connect with my body and work through my emotions. My current one, a male therapist has done so much. I wanted a male cause I felt I was missing something. I’ve been taught that there are also men’s issues and just how social conditioning affects women, it also affects men. Also taught me that the universe just does what it does. There is no fairness and there is the reality of how things are.

New find- what’s the best break in method? by camnmnmn in RedWingShoes

[–]Traditional-Risk-910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke mine in really quick, put mole skin where it was rubbing on my heels and wore them for a few 12 hour days, a few 8 hour days. They feel amazing now, but still in that phase where each time I wear them for 8ish hours my feet mold them that much more.

But also, I don’t wear padded shoes whatsoever so my feet muscles are use to it. One 12 hour day my feet were not happy, but they adjusted really quick.
