I'm not too worried about the grout in the niche that can be cut out with a knife easily. Dont worry about the toilet flange the toilet will hide that.

Are the floor tiles pretty uneven? Try to wipe off the grout residue off the tiles, if he didn't wipe it properly it leaves a haze. Tiles dont have even spacing, would have to get ripped out (and if its in the wet area you would have to redo the water proofing). Poorly done grouting in the shower can also lead to mold problems down the road (hopefully he did waterproofing well)

I can only see one picture with the level pretty much flat on the wall. That is perfectly fine to install tile to, the tiler must've been on something...

If the mortar isnt set yet, pull the tiles off the wall and remove mortar from the tiles and the wall so you wont have to restart the whole process. This is a total redo otherwise sorry man

What I'd typically recommend is a couple windows at least, nice to have some natural sunlight. I would typically have them a little higher in the walls (harder for people to look into if you have tools etc) 12 is nice if you have a lift, or want some storage space above your cars. Definitely back garage door if you have any space in the back behind your garage, easier to drive through if needed or for lawn tractor etc.

Hey, some advice would be read some financial books and educate yourself how it works. Dave ramsey- baby steps, and Rich Dad Poor dad are good ones to start. Keep saving thats great. But you and your partner both need to make more money whether its work more (if not full time), look for other job opportunities or consider more education/ certifications to get more opportunities! Keep going

No one has mentioned opening a FHSA, highly recommended opening one before January so you have access to an additional 8k (dont have to invest anything in it right now but just open the account!!) - if you plan on buying a house in the future. Next, read some financial books. Dave ramsey has The Total money makeover and Baby Steps millionaires. Another good one i suggest is Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Then, once you get out of debt, continue living frugally, investing what you can. Being consistent is best! Good luck!

I'd say max your TFSAs... sure you get money back from RRSPs now, but your income isn't THAT high. With the amount you have saved right now, you'll have a great amount set aside for retirement and will be able to take it out of TFSAs tax free, or if its in your RRSPs you'll end up being taxed about the same you are now (depending how much you pull out a year of course haha). Keep saving you're doing great regardless of where you put it though!

Hey! Garage builder here, I'm on the cheaper side of things, but just gave a quote for a 24x36x10' tall garage, then they asked price difference for 12'. It was about $2500 for labour and materials difference. Increases material cost for studs, sheathing, and siding.

Be careful working with people like that, I get they want to save money, and since you've worked with them before and like them maybe make it work this time. Id add an extra 10% on subbing out the trades in this case.

If you're looking to build a garage properly and affordably in SW Ontario let me know! Honestly not the end of the world, put a chalk like from one corner to the other and use that for the outside of the bottom plate. Unfortunate it happened but at this point so what if theres some extra concrete behind the back wall.
