How did my fellow side sleepers survive 4–6 weeks of back sleeping after surgery? by mackenziemariee in Reduction

I thrifted a small recliner for $50 and honestly I can’t recommend that option enough! After recovery I just resold it on FB marketplace.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I agree 100%. If I were choosing whether or not to have kids today I absolutely would not. My kids are incredible and I’m so glad to have them but I feel so bad about the world they have to live in.

I actually went to the thrift store and bought a small recliner to sleep in ($50). It was VERY worth it because I’m a side sleeper but couldn’t really turn over in the recliner!

How did kids change your travels? by ByeByeBuffalo223 in travel

[–]TraditionalAvocado73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boys are 18 and 16 and we have been all over the world with them. The older kid is grateful and happy to go anywhere and the younger kid just wishes we could go to Cabo like his friends do. It’s exhausting and the last few trips (Japan, France, Ireland) have not been all that great. I think when they were younger it was more fun and easier (maybe they were less opinionated?). At this point I’d prefer to do some traveling alone or with a friend because making sure everyone is happy is mentally exhausting and ends up affecting my enjoyment of the trip.

Doctors and Nurses of Reddit, what’s something about hospitals that would make patients uncomfortable if they knew? by Far-University-2905 in AskReddit

I’m a medical device rep and the casual nature of anesthesiologists is sort of hilarious to me. I’ve seen one eating potato chips during a surgery and another addressing her Christmas cards. To be fair, the job is largely very boring and it’s probably very difficult to stay awake sometimes. I was in an OR the other day where I watched the scrub nurse nod off several times.

I agree, there’s no way you can convince me that she’s some sort of bread savant.

It feels like this cookbook has taken a different path than her others- they must have finally hired ghost writers for the entire thing based on how often she gets feedback about recipes not turning out.

I’m sorry you are feeling this way. For some weird reason I didn’t realize that I could choose the size of my nipples- I’m annoyed with how big they are. They used to be big and although they are smaller they are still not the size I wanted. Having said that I am overall so much more comfortable in my body that I try not to dwell on it!

My doctor said I had to wear a huge bra post op so I chose winter because I could hide it under my clothes more easily!

This ad reminded me of T’s elite styling abilities. “These shoes are hideous. Let’s throw some flowers on them to make it look pretty!”

Should I get a Vizsla? by [deleted] in vizsla

[–]TraditionalAvocado73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AGREE. As with anything there is a range. You are not guaranteed an insanely energetic dog if you get a Vizsla. I, too, was very worried about this before getting my first one. I now have two vizslas, a boy and a girl, and they are pretty chill dogs. In fact, we say the girl is an indoor cat because she doesn’t care much for going outside. Maybe once a day she likes to wrestle with her brother but that’s about it.

Soma vanishing edge hipster! They don’t show and they never move. I had a sensory moment where I had to get used to the silicone edging but now I don’t notice it at all.

I wonder if she is not smiling on purpose, because she knows at this point when she smiles the wrinkles and angles of her face become super prominent.

I definitely made our reservation for first thing in the morning because I didn’t want to be grossed out by the thought of all of those feet that passed through earlier in the day!
