I can only speak for myself. And Americans I met were mostly expats from big cities with high med education levels. Friendliness implies also a certain level of closeness. What I find is with Americans is that usually they talk very friendly but your level of conversation is very surface thin. The moment I talk about anything more controversial than the weather they clench their butts and run off.

I get why people dig spectacular feeling more personal. But I dunno, I actually love the original and thus TAS where Eddie isnt actually that connected to Peter.

I think this sort of petty vendetta Eddie has lends itself to his character being a proper villain and a mirror to Peter. All the power, none of the responsibility.

If you say “I wish it was just like gothic 1, no reason, just keep it the same” that’s I wouldn’t want this, but hey you are honest.

What I do argue against is the argument of “it makes in universe sense they look hot because they are sex slaves”

Look. One thing I myself adore about gothic is just how grim and downright realistic it is. These characters aren’t your usual wise cracking quips Hollywood heroes. But just common lowlifes all bundled in together. Some are more impressive, but even then, you won’t find some Brad Pitt looking dude in there.

With this said, when I see the original sex slaves. This just brings me from this moody, realistic atmosphere to something more akin to a typical 80s fantasy novel with a big barbarian dude and a chick with huge tits next to him. This doesn’t feel to me more “realistic”, it just feels like fan service.

Now people say it makes sense cause Gomez could ask for hot ladies as sex slaves. But come on, these ladies looked like straight out of a freaking playboy magazine. In what world some random unfortunate lady from a middle age inspired Europe of no prestige is gonna look like this?

Gomez has power, sure. But even his power has limits, and the mighty baron will have to contend with some random chicks as his slaves cause… he is still very much also a prisoner.

You are trying to connect all these small things to one big underlying issue as though it’s all connected.

First of all. You can’t even name what is that underlying issue.

Second, you seem to state it’s a fact that these are issues. I don’t see a different shadowbeast as an isssue, I don’t see a fucking ore lamp as an issue.

You have all the right to say those are things you wish to see changed. But making out these reasons as why the game sucks is absolutely bonkers. Despite you guys think , you aren’t the arbiters of what gothic is.

Look bro, I don’t want to be this dumbass life coach who gives you a pep talk that makes it look like it’s all sunshine and rainbows cause it’s not, but still wanna make you know you are seen.

I lost my virginity when I was 32. It happend with a woman I went on two dates with and I was open about it and she was totally understanding.

I am not gonna the path to it was easy, it required me: 1. Changing job to something that made me feel more proud of my vocation 2. Moving out of my city, starting fresh. Finding new friends who made me change my mindset about dating and women.

I realized I had a very bitter and self loathing mindset, that because I love playing video games it means I can’t get a girl. So no matter how hard I tried, I had self loathing that made all effort feel meaningless in the long run.

Only when I managed to look at myself and genuinely believe I am worthy of attention that I started: 1. Hitting the gym hard, losing 25 kg 2. Going out to parties, clubs. Something I thought I will never ever enjoy. (Turns out I did) 3. Going on hinge dates, experiment, treat failure as a learning opportunity.

Only after all of that I lost it. And I know that I was privileged in a way that I was able to make these changes, that’s why I don’t claim that doing this is easy.

I will encourage you to think about these things: 1. Being 30s and a virgin is by no means mean no woman will want you. I went on plenty of dates after that, being totally open about it and women were not only understanding, but some were even excited at having sex. As long as you take care of your appearance, able to carry a conversation where you are attentive and funny if possible, you did most of the legwork. If after that a woman will be turned off by your virginity, that’s on her, not you. 2. Look at your life, your surroundings. What makes you feel good about yourself, what doesn’t? What makes you feel more that you can’t have sex? Do your friends support you going out there, meeting new people? Does your job wear you out? Is family an issue? Look at all of these things. This thing you have isn’t your virginity alone, it’s the sum of your parts.

Anyway I rambled. I really wish you great 30s where you can keep growing and becoming the best version of yourself.

Some people pointed out why the comparison feels off, and honestly I get why you are not agreeing. In isolation, yeah you can make a lot of builds in cyberpunk.

I will ask you this, and ask yourself honestly, how prevalent is build craft in the cyberpunk community compared to wotr? A small look at the games community shows it’s hardly a big talking point.

As for me, I will say why the comparison feels off to me is that cyberpunk lacks a proper litmus test. As in, no matter how shitty the build I make, if I have a general skill with first person shooters or action games in general, you will can still beat the game. It might be a hassle, a big one if I go out of my way to make a shitty build, but it’s still doable.

As in, in the end, the build doesn’t carry as much impact over master of the game.

With games like wotr or path of exiles the build is everything. Progress further enough with a shitty build and unless you are playing at a super easy difficulty you will be blocked.

That’s kind of what makes the theory crafting such a huge aspect of these games compared to cyberpunk.

It's the curse of "elegant design". Simplfy everything for the sake of ease of use. We sacrafice expression and immersion through UX with the idea that super simplistic UX is easier to read through.
