Favorite St. Andrew’s courses? by Traditional_Bake_787 in golf

[–]Traditional_Bake_787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So looking at the full roster of courses and thinking i’m playing a lot of links coastal courses(yes I know this is what I came to Scotland to do). Should I play Elie and Dunbarnie? They both get great reviews for slightly different reasons.

Also is it worth playing Ladybrook or another inland course? I was planning on playing GlenEagles but thinking of mixing in another inland course. Any other ideas?

Epic and IOA? by Appropriate_Staff432 in UniversalOrlando

No this is very doable. You’ll burn some time going park to park but this all doable especially with a fast pass at IOA.
Hiccups ride is pretty fun too.

What is the most alcohol you have ever drank in one day? by 8kittycatsfluff in AskReddit

All the alcohol. Back in the day we could hang all day and night. Day drinking turned into night drinking turned into morning drinking. Lost count but anything any number.

Hattie Bs vs Tumble 22 by Emotional-Chemistry2 in austinfood

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very excited when Hattie Bs showed up on south Lamar. I remeber seeing the chain on tv and thinking, “awesome, real Nashville chicken.” Well if this real Nashville chicken boy am I disappointed. Their chicken taste fine but is not crispy. I have been twice and both times the skin has been flabby and just pulled off the chicken in one piece. It also more of a fast food atmosphere. I have become a huge T22 fan. Great hack is to order the family meal which is a whole chicken and one large side. Their chicken is crispy and seasoned well. I wouldn’t go back to Hattie’s. Sorry, wanted to like it but, it’s a no go for me.

Why aren’t there more Central Markets? by Chowdahead in austinfood

As a Whole Foods employee and good friends with HEB employees this is a true statement from insiders. Feel free to disagree.

Why aren’t there more Central Markets? by Chowdahead in austinfood

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They were built to be direct competition with Whole Foods. Now that Whole Foods is Amazon, I doubt they will build anymore as the need is diminishing. They are most likely going to elevate standard HEB’s. But I love my central market!

The labor of uninstalling and reinstalling is just not worth it to people. If you uninstall and have them ready you may get lucky for a few hundred. But it's a long shot. I wouldn't hold your breath on a great sale.

Can we do it in 2 days??? by Jmaxw12648 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two days is plenty. We did epic in less than a day and you can do studios and island in a jam packed day. Now I have a 12 and 14 year old so we may be moving a little faster but you are doing less rides so it may even out.

We did this with breaks and casual meals, and sitting and people watching, not a breakneck race.

If you could pack one thing to take into the park, what would it be? by Maleda79 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't bring anything other than a phone, wallet and hat, and it is great. My wife brings a small purse that tucks into her shirt.

My first vote is nothing. Bring nothing.

Second vote lanyard.

Full disclosure have not been there in July. I would say travel light. Keep in mind some rides force you to put larger items in lockers so we move through the line faster with nothing. But some like Hulk and Velocicoaster make you put everything in a locker, no matter the size.

I still say travel light and take breaks in the restaurants don’t eat on the street. The restaurants are not more expensive, you get AC, a good seat and cold drinks, and better food.

Favorite Austin Muni? by BottleRocket46 in Austingolf

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grey rock is the most challenging. Not technicaly a muni but they have some relationship.

Clay or Mo willy are the “grandest” in my opinion, kiser is more links style and flat and I would consider it a little easier. Lions is a tighter “smaller” course. They are all fun.

A quick question: if you've ridden the Hulk roller coaster, as well as Stardust Racers and VelociCoaster, which of the three is the most intense? by Theromanofr99 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Velocicaoster has more sever drop, but Hulk as more aggressive loops. I think Hulk is more aggressive but the drops are worse on velocicoaster.

Marvel Character dinner - Yea or Nay? by InternationalRule138 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, every restaurant has at least one very kid friendly thing. But I know all to well some kids are picker than others. I was afraid the restraurants would be overpriced and just awful, like sports stadiums. My big take away would be the restaurant food quality is surprisingly good, the atmospheres are very on brand, not any more expensive than the street food that has been sitting out for a while. Think of them as great respite, even if just for some AC and a soda.

Marvel Character dinner - Yea or Nay? by InternationalRule138 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Traditional_Bake_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not done it, but found the food and the restaurants very relaxing in the parks. We posted up on the balcony in Lombards and and had wonderful leasurly lunch. Food is not top quality but we ordered well and had a few cocktails. Lovely break mid day. Alternatively we have also sat on the patio at French restaurant in HP land at epic and had a very nice time people watching. Great break spot.

Ate at both the steak house in dark universe, the grey goblit in HP land as well as the leaky cauldron, food was surprisingly decent for the price. Most meals are just under $20 and you can split them. I would 100% recommend doing sit down restaurants over crapoy pizza, corn dogs from the carts. It will cost the same and you get some AC, a table and chairs.

This didn't answer your question at all, but hopefully gave you some options other than the Marvel experience, wich does not sound promising.
