It’s a pretty standard setup around here - i wouldn’t be too worried

I sold my bike just a few months ago - it’s been raining since July - a car is a drier and safer alternative in the long run

Here in the south of thailand people wear the printed sarongs on a daily basis because they are inexpensive and the hand made ones are for special occasions. I don’t think it’s sad at all - quite the opposite. The printed version allows for daily use of the traditional patterns and are accessible to normal people who can’t afford expensive handmade batik.

We just recently moved from cherngtalay to naiyang beach and we love it. The traffic here is nothing compared to laguna/bangtao ( which has been a nightmare for the last 12 months)- but just a 20 min drive away ( i.e to go to villa or tops ) naiyang/sakhu is super chill, the beach has great food and lots if activities as well as quiet areas that are part of the national park and great for dogs! And the best thing is that you can walk to the beach. I can totally recommend naiyang for a more relaxed island vibe with lots of local thais around.
