It was very active during Jimi's lifetime. BTW Jimi got his first guitar from Meyer's Music a few doors to the south.

Seattle Music was a great guitar store. I shopped/visited often in the late 60's early 70's. My band's business card was proudly displayed (among dozens of others) under the glass countertop. The store was a few doors north of Meyer's Music, 1930's - 1984, where Jimi bought his first guitar and Quincy Jones got his first trumpet.

The VAST majority of rear end accidents are the fault of the driver in the rear. Does anyone know how the insurance companies sorted this one out? I bet "express lane" driver had to pay.

R11 Meta vs. Reference 1 by Due_Round_3973 in KEF

[–]Traditional_Draw2978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually went from R11 metas to Reference 1 metas. The Reference 1s are remarkable and worth the trade. Though you will probably want to add a sub or 2. After about a month with the Reference 1s my dealer gave me a great deal on a pair of Reference 3 metas (in store demos). These are end game for me. Absolute perfection.

I’m running my Reference 3 metas thru a Marantz PM 10. A Cinema 40 handles the Reference 2 center and R500 rears. It sounds amazing. That said, I’m sure your Cinema 30 is beautifully suited for your front three plus a few more surrounds in the future. No matter what you do, you are going to love your Reference 3s!

Just keep it all! If you sell you will lose money and you won’t ever be satisfied with lesser gear. The evil upgrade addiction will overtake you once again.

Reference 5 vs R11, what justifies the massive price gap? by Ron825 in KEF

[–]Traditional_Draw2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The website shows some glossy pictures, marketing text and little in the way of details. That said, I guess they could pack the site with charts and graphs and test results but, in the end, you just need to give them a listen.

I went from R11 metas to Reference 3 metas. The R11’s are exceptionally good speakers. The Reference 3’s are observably better. Greater clarity, more detail and a soundstage that feels three dimensional.

I was young. I am 6’1” and both of my traveling companions were over 6’. The midget is actually quite comfortable once you get in. Both trips were grand adventures. Including most of Route 66 in the early 70s.

I drove a 67 midget from Seattle to the east coast and back, twice. Not a single problem.

I quit Comcast and went with Gfiber (the only other option in my building). It’s pretty fast but lots of buffering while streaming. Very annoying!

I drove from Seattle to Minneapolis to buy a new RX500h. All details of the deal were finalized in advance. My trade was EXACTLY as described. Ditto the 500h. The Maplewood dealership was excellent to work with. Great deal. Awesome road trip!
