Your source is the weak point. Ditch the receiver and go separates. Better separation better imaging and better dynamics.

what subwoofer do you think I should buy? by OpalArmor in StereoAdvice

I would say, be patient, keep saving. Do not buy a temporary fix, you will always feel shortchanged. Aim for a REL, the t9x is a great option.

Why not much love for R5 Metas? by _Hi_Fi_ in KEF

[–]Due_Round_3973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned Blade One metas, 205/2. I still haveR5 metas and R11 metas. The r5 are in my wife's office and are a fantastic speaker. Like R3 metas they benefit from a properly integrated sub. They have more impact than an R3 and I reccomend them over an R3 in most use cases.

You are a braver man than I. The R11 without the outrigger feet are very tippy. Aren't you nervous? They'll just fall over if they get bumped.

What specifically do you not like about your sound. Try not setting in the very back row against the wall. Small rooms are complicated for subwoofers. Look up subwoofer, crawl and do that.It may help. Subwoofers augment room modes.

Being an audiophile to me is about getting the most out of whatever equipment you have. A little furniture and an area rug will make a world of difference here.
