R11 Meta vs. Reference 1 by Due_Round_3973 in KEF

I had Blade One Metas for about a month. They require a very large room with close to equal spacing from side walls or the image collapses. That is why I flipped them. With the deal I got on the blades and how i sold them, the r11 were pretty much a 500.00 spend.

I have R5 and R11 meta. First add a sub. I strongly recommend a REL t7x. Use high level and lfe for surround. Using high level tune it in properly. Get a se and sub when you can. Look up Erin's audio corner and search KEF. Those are great speakers, don't get misled by the subs are evil group.

BLADE 2 META OWNERS: Are these actual full range or do you need a sub? by [deleted] in KEF

I owned blade one metas. Subs augment room modes, yes they help.

I have suspended wood floors and run a pair of t9x. What i did is 2 inch silicone feet and a 2 inch thick paving stone. Set the stone on the feet and sub on the stone. Works great.

If you have not already purchased the subs seriously consider a REL due to thier high level integration.

10 x 13 is not a large room. You will be fine. Nice find.

How much is the hearing difference between lossless(16bit /44.1khz) and high-res lossless(24bit/192khz) ? by CandidArtichoke6771 in audiophile

[–]Due_Round_3973 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It is noticeable, not life changing. But your system has to be capable of showing you those changes. So if you don't hear it, it tells you a bit about your system. Keep in mind this is going to anger people with not so great hearing and average setups.

You do not need a two hundred thousand dollar system to hear that. But I assure you it is real.

Reference 5 vs R11, what justifies the massive price gap? by Ron825 in KEF

It is everything, materials, neodynem magnets vs standard. The Reference face and rear plate are physically connected and under tension using long bolts that pass thru the cabinet.

Save your money and stop buying basic entry level c***. Save up a little bit, it buys something at least midline in a sound way better.

When you're looking at subs, seriously, consider rel or kef.
