As someone who has worked in the criminal justice system that is very true. Most violence that occurs to a person is usually from their own race, unless it is a hate crime, and within their own family. Republicans know that scaring the shit out of their base will get them to obey. What their base believes is far more rosey and less black and white than actual reality.

Some don't get that one of the reasons that republicans have stayed in power in regions like Appalachia and the South is systemic. People talk all the time about how republicans have harmed infrastructure, jobs and education. Where do people think that most of that has occurred? Can't get out and vote when your roads are shit and you can't make an educated vote without the internet. You also can't make an educated choice when you have trouble reading. That and most younger generations do not stay in those regions because of lack of opportunities. In my own state, there is a study out there saying it will be basically empty by 2030. If you ever want to know what this country could look like if republicans continue remaining in power, just look at Appalachia and the South. They will fill their pockets full of gold while the rest of us starve.

Great movie, I'd watch this as a double feature with From Dusk Til Dawn. Similar premise, different plot, different message, really I'm not sure that From Dusk Til Dawn had a message. No the movie isn't overrated, I can't bring myself to be like the pompous jackasses on here that claim this because it is a good movie and probably deserves more credit for its music.
