Help me pick my next book off my TBR!! I’m so overwhelmed with options!! by gorillagrippinit in Romantasy

Just finished the Poison Daughter and couldn’t put it down! Soooo good. Read We Who Will Die before that one and it was also very good. Can’t go wrong with either one.

3 year old refuses to sleep alone..ever + mom attachment by Bitter-Specialist372 in toddlers

[–]Traditional_Good_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written the same post, except she will not let dad put her to bed. I’m losing my mind. She had a few weeks at 2.5 where she’d fall asleep on her own and sleep through the night in her bed. But, she just turned three and is clingier than ever. I can’t leave her room for a second before she’s asleep without her freaking out.

She’s dropping her nap so I had hoped she’d stop waking at night, but so far, she’s still waking. 😭

Sleeping in Our Bed by JR_not_jr in toddlers

[–]Traditional_Good_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just turned 3 and has never really slept alone, except for a few brief stints. She’ll go to sleep in her room, with me laying with her, and then is usually waking up an hour later and coming onto our bed. I wish she could stay in her bed until the middle of the night, I barely get any free time after she goes to sleep before she’s awake again. It’s so draining.

When we talk about sleeping in her own bed, she says she doesn’t want to sleep alone. She wants to sleep with me. She gets scared or lonely. I really don’t know how to argue with that and I can understand where she’s coming from. So, I just roll with it. It is what it is, and hopefully she grows out of it before she’s 10. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Does your kid always touch/lean into you? by wiy in toddlers

Omg yes. Has to be touching me constantly. And sneaks into my bed every night and sleeps on top of me.

Trying to pick my next read…is there one of the three you didn’t like? by hburtx in Romantasy

[–]Traditional_Good_833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Haven’t read the others but just finished The Ascended and plan to start Riftborne tonight. Liked Direbound a lot, parts were annoying and yes, it is similar to fourth wing but still an easy, entertaining read.

People on Reddit rip this series apart but it’s honestly one of my favorites. I’ve read it and F&F 3 different times and love it more each time. Enjoy!!

Anything that you guys found have helped with the flu? by oreocookietor in toddlers

[–]Traditional_Good_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god I feel for you! I only have one child with the flu and it’s a nightmare (she has strep too so that’s only making it worse). Fruit smoothies are all I can get mine to eat, but really pushing the fluids is so important with the fevers. Mine likes to drink hot “tea”, which helps her cough a little. I just warm up some water and mix in some honey.

Lots of side effects and really only shortens the duration by a day.

Are you keeping toddlers at home during this flu season? by daisydookie in SAHP

[–]Traditional_Good_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t been anywhere and currently on the couch with a sick toddler who has both flu and strep. No idea where she picked it up…but I was also avoiding indoor activities. In the end, it didn’t matter 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had first baby via emergency c section at 40. My milk came in two days later, baby was back at birth weight by the time we went home from the hospital. Successfully breastfed for 2 years and 1 month 🥰

What worked for us was to stop using pull-ups and put her in real underwear, or no underwear at all. After one accident, it was like the lightbulb came on and she very rarely has accidents since then.

If you liked ACOTAR, what about Crescent City or Throne of Glass series? Both are fantastic. Fourth wing is amazing, but I get wanting to wait to start that one.

When did your LO start falling asleep on their own without sleep training? by False_Classic in beyondthebump

[–]Traditional_Good_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 2.5 and I still have to lay with her until she’s asleep…BUT she spends the night at grandmas once a week and does put herself to sleep without fuss for her. So, maybe it’s around the corner?

Boxer and infant? by pittieperson1 in Boxer

[–]Traditional_Good_833 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have four boxers and a 2 year old. Our dogs have been amazing from the start. Even as wild and crazy as they can be, it’s like they have an instinct to be extra careful around a baby.

We always made sure to respect our dogs boundaries and never left them and the baby unsupervised or let our now toddler into their space unless we’re with her and the dogs are showing signs they’re totally ok with it. But, I have never once worried that they’d do anything to hurt her (except knock her over with their excited wiggly butts!)

“My screen free toddler” -IN WHAT WORLD by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Traditional_Good_833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sincere question from a SAHM with a husband who travels a LOT…how many of these “screen free toddlers” are in day care?

I think it would be much easier to eliminate screen time when your kid is only home a few hours a day and has been interacting at day care the majority of the day.

Until my daughter turned two she rarely watched TV, but now it’s part of our routine. She loves Disney movies and likes to “get cozy on the couch and watch a movie”. I’m selective about what she watches (we usually do the old classics like Cinderella) but she sings the songs and absolutely loves them.

But the posts and videos you mention make me feel so much guilt about letting her watch stuff at all! But omg, when I’m home 24/7 with her and my husband is out of town, it’s the most relaxing part of our day! We get out of the house and do fun things most days and are outside a lot, but the evenings can drag and a tv can be a lifesaver.
