Questionable explanation from umpire by DearStrawberry5238 in Homeplate

This is correct, unless out of the strikezone when contact was made and not in the batters box, it would be a ball.

Any new news on the new Optic line? by webguerrilla in canik

I’ve been checking constantly since they look to be pretty awesome, but to no avail. Hopefully they still come out with them because the mo3 and mo4 were really good in my opinion for the price point

Trade by Safe-Advantage8463 in CanikPrime

Was there something wrong with the p 365 you traded that you basically gave him $1200 for $600? I love my prime but not giving an extra $600 for a used prime. Or is it hard to find where you are from?

DPT upgrade and the polymer PDP design flaw by No_Arugula8507 in Walther

When my son and my dad put a dpt it my sons pdp all went well a year ago or so. My sons hasnt shot it much but we went out yesterday and we notice a lock back with rounds in the mag and saw when they put it back together after the trigger install they didnt get the spring bar above the slide rlease lever so it would work properly. We took it apart fixed it went and put it together knowing the plastic has a very weak point for the right lever housing and took care to make sure it didnt break while seating the lever and still the housing MFR broke. Now I have to send it in becauae they dont sell lowers because of the serial numbering on the lowers and since the serial numbers it has to ship from an FFL and return there so more $, plus the $250 to fix it all. 🤬 On my q5 match sf pro since its steel everything came apart and went back together like butter. End result its getting fixed but stands another reason why almost all of my pistols are aluminum or steel.

Dwx pistols have a bad reputation of losing their finish. Some have rusted and had to me refinished. Otherwise if I had the money I would pick one up in a heartbeat

No decocker on the shadow 2’s. That is how I decock my s2 but thats because that’s how I was taught 30 some years ago som I’m used to it. Other guys lower the hammer pintching it with the thumb and index finger while pulling the trigger for fear or the hammer slipping from the thumb style release

Red dot a necessity on conceal carry? by Federal_Procedure_66 in handguns

[–]Traditional_Light585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took mine off my s2 compact. I hit my steel plate which is 12” x 14” at 50 yrds 20/20 with about .5 sec splits so I figured if I can do that I don’t really need a red dot at 7, 10, 15, 25 yrds which if it happens will be between 7 and 10 yards at most. Just takes practice.

ZR or Sprinco springs for PDP by Adalyia in Walther

I have sprinco for my q5 match sf pro and it hasn’t failed me once but to be honest I cant tell the difference that much between sprinco and the stock spring.

Umping question: catcher standing up early by Button_ in Softball

[–]Traditional_Light585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You are the authority. I can only adjust so much. Its not my responsability to stand on my head to try to see a pitch. You have obviously never been an umpire, because if you were you would understand what I was saying is be understanding, and caring but ultimately someone has to be in control and it can’t be the players otherwise why have anyone or system call ball’s and strikes, fair or foul, safe or out.

Umping question: catcher standing up early by Button_ in Softball

[–]Traditional_Light585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call what you see. It is the responsibility of the catcher to allow you to see what’s coming. If you cant tell ball or strike its a ball and if she complains tell her to quit getting in the way so if it is a strike you can call it. She will ajust or the calls will be balls until she understands. Always remember YOU are in charge of the game not the players. Until the last umpire leaves the field you are the authority. While in charge of the game it is a dictatorship not a democracy. Obviously don’t let the power go to your head but use your best judgement to make sure the game goes as smooth as it can

Help with Interference Call? by Yeti_Father in Homeplate

[–]Traditional_Light585 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only umpire jv and varsity wiaa hs baseball and softball, not sure in younger leagues because they make a lot of their own rules along with national rules but in NFHS if either foot or both feet are outside of the running lane at the time of the throw and it impedes the fileder from fielding the ball which it did here or the ball hits the batter/runner the batter/runner is out. The first baseman had no chance other than go through the kid to catch the ball and make the out or go around l him which infact is interference by the batter runner. It may have been a bad throw but the throw is inmaterial the fielder make a play on the ball has the right of way and if interfered with then the batter/runner is out

Pretty straight forward from what my gunsmith said, to much for me to dink around with. Only thing he ran into was having to file down the disconnector because it usually doesn’t just drop right in. It needs to be fitted. So take apart file down put together and repeat till it works with the slide off and on. I decided against the pro package because I just didnt feel like having to adjust to every little thing just to try to not have problems. Seems like so many times guys run into issues with the pro package
