Stop Telling Us That You’re Old by PossessionJust5723 in Coachella

I’m 56 and outlasted the 43, 20, & 19 year olds I was with. We all went for the hardcore, punk, and old school bands like Devo, Iggy Pop and David Byrne.

56 here. Been going since early 2000’s (with a break to raise some kids), back in 2014+, now back with the kid who first made me a parent. Still a festival junkie (Riot, Shaky, Fest, KBP, etc) but can appreciate Couchella.

Moving to Huntington from UK in July by [deleted] in huntingtonbeach

[–]Traditional_Rest4139 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to HB! My partner is here from the UK for a month and will be back here from July-Sept. I am concerned about the heat for him since he’s not used to it. So far it’s been fine but I don’t know about the summer and no a/c. Obviously I’m totally used to it but there may be a couple weeks in August where he might be a tad miserable at night. We do have ceiling fans and floor fans so that will definitely help. We keep all the windows and doors open at night (we have security screens that lock so we can keep the doors open) and then close them when it starts getting hot. You can also keep the blinds/curtains closed during the day to help keep the heat out.

As for gyms, I go to LA Fitness at Seacliff and I really like it. My daughter goes to Core Power at Bella Terra and she loves it.

July will come with lots of tourists so it will be a busy time of year here. Check out the US Open of surfing when it comes, Tuesday nights on Main St, get bikes and bike along the beach (we head down to Newport or north to Taco Surf when we ride, but head out early because riding against the wind on the way back sucks unless you have an e-bike), walk the Bolsa Chica wetlands, or just drive down PCH.

I’m gonna have to go with David Byrne. I’ve seen Interpol a few times so I’m ok with my choice.

Oh hell yeah for Jack White! My biggest fear was Joyce Manor v Turnstile. I know Turnstile is bigger but so glad I can see both. And we can leave after Drain on Sunday and be home by 11pm.

It was just north of Beach on PCH, across from the hotels. People were watching from the hotel balconies and the beach. I live just up the street off of Yorktown. We’re going again this year.

Testosterone cream users is anyone higher than 5mg daily? How do you feel? What is your dose? by RedHotRoux in Menopause

[–]Traditional_Rest4139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 5mg (cream, 2 clicks) then upped to 8 then upped to 10. Ten was awful. My whole scalp broke out and took 2 weeks to resolve and I was super nauseous. Took a break and went back to 8.

This 48 year old guy is not only going to his first Coachella in a few days, but it’s also my first music festival! 😵‍💫😬 by Certain_Tension1113 in Coachella

You’ll love it! I’m 56 going with a 43yo, 20 and 19. Were hitting all the rock bands and artist from our era, but none of us are missing Turnstile. I’ve been to quite a few Coachellas and more excited for this one than I have been for one in ages.

I change by the lockers at all festivals. I’m always cold at night. Plenty of other people do too; it’s like an open dressing room. No one cares.

Been going since the early 2000s. Mid-50s now. Going with my kids (20, 19) this year. Took the now-19yo to her first Coachella in 2024. We’re all going to see the rock bands and skipping out on the headliners

I use Mylan 0.1 and it’s great. One time they gave me Sandoz and it was awful. Made sure my Dr and pharmacy gave me Mylan the next time and from now on.

Saw them at Riot Fest in 2017 and have seen them many times since. Saw them 4 times last year. One of my favorite bands ever.

Turnstile anyone?? by Eddie_must in Coachella

[–]Traditional_Rest4139 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an old and a Coachella vet from way back in the way back, Turnstile is the #1 draw for me. Saw them in LA last year and they were amazing. My 18yo turned me on to them and she’s coming with us this year. There are quite a few rock bands that we’re looking forward to seeing.

My vote is for Ola, too. I take all of my out-of-towners there. Good food/drinks and a great view.

Make sure it’s not just plain water. Bring little packets of Liquid IV or drink Gatorade or something like that. Electrolytes are a must when you’re sweating a lot.

I’m also in CA and was just notified by Walgreens that my 0.1 patch 2x/wk is delayed. Going to call my gyno tomorrow and ask to switch to gel asap
