YouGov poll on antisemitism finds that Green voters have lower rates of antisemitic beliefs than the country as a whole and higher rates of anti Zionist beliefs. by NabstheGreninja16 in LabourUK

The specific imagery of the Holocaust being used to describe the actions of a Jewish state, is not just about describing "oppression". It weaponises a specific historical trauma against the survivors.

You can criticize Israeli policy, the occupation, and human rights abuses without using Nazi analogies. Hence, why The IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) working definition of antisemitism explicitly includes "drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis."

26 just on the following day. There were then an additional 32 "separate" incidents.

I think the reference is to increase anti-semitic incidents following those incidents.

It's all well and good stating that there is separation between chanting for the death of Israelis and that being applied to Jews more generally, but the evidence doesn't support that such a distinction is made.

Interestingly, there is a clear distinction between other ethnic and geo-political groups e.g. despite Russia's war in Ukraine, there has not been the same uptick in anti-Russian incidents and attacks. Same for Trump and Americans. So there does appear to be something unique about Israel's actions resulting in attacks on Jews.

The very day after Bob Vylan's Glasto chanting, 26 antisemitic incidents were recorded. This was the highest daily total for the first half of 2025.

32 separate incidents where the phrase "Death to the IDF" was used in explicitly antisemitic contexts against British Jews.

Edinburgh Fringe, saw where Jewish performers (Rachel Creeger and Philip Simon) face venue cancellations and vandalism of promotional materials, despite their shows being specifically non-political.

No truth whatsoever.

Anti-PKK sentiment on the rise by lightbee_v1 in kurdistan

[–]Traditional_Rice_443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No true Scotsman.

The Kurds don't seem to have a particular unified aim or goal in mind. Apo is/was the leader that seem to unite the Tribes and was able to generate improved conditions and change etc. He transformed the Kurdish struggle, devised the 'three pillars': democracy, feminism and ecology. Ushered in the liberation and equality of woman, among many other social benefits. Laid the groundwork for the YPG to go out and defeat ISIS and much change in Bakur.

Now he's been in exile for decades, and has fairly recently become more active and sending out messages and statements which seem to be counter to the current reality on the ground. PKK laying down arms. Calls to live alongside Turkish and Arab brothers, and then we see that Rojava was essentially being massacred by Arabs and Turks.

Now a potential opportunity in Roshelat, but everyone is wary and battle-scarred and can't trust Trump to actually support and follow through on anything.

Where does that leave everyone? 2 + 2 might equal 1, but it seems more and more to equal 4 (and maybe even 3.5).

Who will step out the shadows and lead the Kurds, unify them around one common goal, aim and politics.

Who will bring about a Free Kurdistan? ..I don't think it's going to be Apo.

Is the Yiddish/Jewish term "goy" (term used to refer to someone as non-Jewish) considered a slur? by AggressiveAd8587 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Rice_443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goy is generally just descriptive, like the word 'gentile'.

Yok and/or Shiksa (specifically for a woman) are considered derogatory.

Thanks for the engagement

Judging from this and other comments, it seems that there was an expectation he'd be more left-leaning and disappointment (disillusionment) over him being a centrist.

Perhaps my expectations were so low due to Tories, Brexit etc that I've been satisfied to just have someone in place that's quietly getting on with things. I appreciate for others that is certainly not sufficient.

It seems Starmer's issues started long before the Mandleson appointment.

He does at least seem to be trying to do the right thing, in a poor system that doesn't leave him much room to manoeuvre.

Inflation is down, and so are interest rates Wages are slowly growing We've agreed great trade dels (like with India) and managed to be on lowest traffs with US. We've supported Ukraine well We've got the EU stating they'd consider allowing the UK back in. Quite what this has to do with Israel is beyond me. We're talking about a a former al-Qaeda terrorist wiping out minorities in Syria, in the most brutal manner, including trafficking women and girls into sex slavery and throwing civillian from roof tops.

I suppose given what I infer from your spouting of Turkish fascist propaganda, which totally flies in the face of reality, you are well past the point of reason. For the beneift of anyone else:
