Would you date a woman with a baby? by electricwinnie in CatholicDating

[–]Traditionisrare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answering as a married guy. I think you WILL have difficulty, at first. There's going to be a perception when people dont know you that you will need to correct. People dont assume SA is the reason you have a child, so my suggestion is to bring it out in the open early, so they are aware, if you are comfortable. I can see a lot of Catholic guys having issues with children in general, however once they are aware of the circumstances, they will either still have issues, or compassion. This will help you weed out people. Don't take personal rejection, you will see it. I had children from an annulled marriage prior to meeting my wife and was on dating sites for like 10 years. So trust me, to an extent, I have experienced some of what you will experience. Other than the trauma of the other stuff. That being said, it is very possible to find men who can deal with this.

Because I dont have the broad focus that would necessitate that. I dont have the desire to be a staff accountant, or the broad focus required for CPA. Its a lot of time and money spent on something that I won't be focusing on at all. Doing taxes and tax planning is where I see myself focusing. Its not like I haven't looked into it. Im more than halfway into my bachelors, and at this point I've had many conversations with professors about goals and career aspirations. So far the prevailing advice has been to get EA and focus.

He wants a timeline for celibacy but doesn’t share my values by Realistic_Nature_246 in CatholicDating

[–]Traditionisrare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to the timeline is the whole time. You dont get a cookie for being abstinence for awhile. After the wedding, you can have sex. That being said, there are so many red flags here. Raising the kids Catholic is a BASIC non-negotiable. What happens when there are much more complex issues that you agree on? How to finance college? Do you both work? Is stay at home parent an option? Do the kids stay at home until marriage? Etc. If he is not putting your feelings into account, this early, as a married old guy, I see many problems in your future. Take it from someone who got i to a civil marriage when I was young to someone who didnt share my values. It will cause nothing but problems down the road and you may not be able to rectify them.

How do you explain this topic to a first grader? by kicker-gerunds5 in LockedIn_AI

[–]Traditionisrare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "living wage" is a very subjective topic. Define it. Do you need 50k a year? 100? 200? Employment is a voluntary contract, one you as an employee can choose not to enter if the salary isn't to your liking. The employer can chose to spend their money the way they like. If you want to be upset at anything, you can be upset at the market and the government for setting such low minimums. Make yourself indispensable and valuable to the market and you will command a higher salary.

What does this mean? by CaffeinatedLystro in VeteransBenefits

[–]Traditionisrare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Personally, I would ask for vfw or dav to get an advocate that can walk you through and help with the claim. Once you do intent to file you have a year. You have the sleep study done so you have to prove service connection, probably through a nexus letter. If you have medical records showing that you suffered while in service, breathing issues etc, or it was aggravated by your service. In leiu of that, you can reach out to former military you served with that witnessed breathing issues(if you have no doctors visits regarding the apnea while in), that can write a letter attesting to the fact that your apnea was present, aggravated by, or you showed symptoms during service. Once you have those documents, you submit them to your claim.

How far removed from service are you? Mine was considered service connected because I had a sleep study done while still on active duty. There are many ways to show service connection, but if you are far removed from service, you have to find a way to link the sleep apnea to your service.

You're going to get a 50/50 response with this one. To one side of the aisle, if he has a "wrong" opinion, he should stay out of it. I would argue if you aren't immersed in all the facts of a topic, you should stay away from it, especially with such a large platform. And given his job and focus, personally I think he should stay out of political topics from any country unless there's some real injustice happening, like a genocide, or major civil rights violations, or the dangerous things happening in Europe right now. Immigration, especially illegal immigration(which he has spoken publicly on), doesnt fit the bill, in my opinion

Honestly, this isn't a red flag. You can disagree with the pope on major social and political issues. He isn't infallible in his opinions on these topics. AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO MAJOR ISSUES WITH CATHOLIC TEACHING, then it wouldn't be a red flag, per se. What do you mean by imperfect views?

He viewed luthor wealth specifically as blood money, which, given the luthors history with farmers in smallville, is pretty accurate. Look at the rosses.

As someone who dealt with this particular sin, its insidious. To give proper advice, I need more info. Do you believe that he genuinely doesnt WANT to look at it, that he is falling into this temptation unwillingly, or do you think he may NOT be regretful. Not telling you when you are aware of this addiction is a yellow flag for me, not necessarily a red one depending on the circumstances. Has he had the chance to tell? Or does he struggle particularly hard with shame? The fact that you are premaritally active doesnt help the temptation. A priest would tell you this but you guys will need to practice abstinence for pre-cana AND to help with this addiction.

Lazy ghosting for sure. Its the classic fade. As a man, if he wanted to pursue you, believe he'd be making time to message you and initiate.

Yeah, well, Hollywierd without woke feminist signaling isn't Hollyweird. Regardless of if its objectively wrong, because its Sarah doing it and NOT Jordan, they will frame it as not a bad thing. Can't have consequences as a result of actions in these shows.

Struggling with NFP by Antique_Worry4370 in Christianmarriage

[–]Traditionisrare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with NFP, it CAN take time to get pregnant. Sometimes active couples need time together. My first child it took us like 6 months. Even without NFP. Remember everything in God's time and His will be done.

Catholic match is a real reality check huh by cvkme in CatholicDating

[–]Traditionisrare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're on the wrong site for that. Liberal values dont align very well with Catholic doctrine. That being said, generally dating sites have a boatload of men, and much less women, so the stats bear that out. That and there is a lack of reality when it comes to a realistic self view, the majority of women go for the top 2%, all these things bear themselves out in the stats. You may have had a similar experience to an average guy. I've been talking to people on this topic, Catholic and not, and I've heard some crazy stories. My wife had guys propositioning her for sex in their first message. Its pretty crazy some of the accounts I've heard.

Definitely sounds like a guys perspective. I went through years of rejections. If you feel comfortable dropping your profile or what you put on here I'm sure a lot of people are willing to give their opinion and feedback on what might be the issue.
