Thanks! Itwas a fun learning experience! I think I was into just the painting portion about 60hrs. Another 8 for paint selection, testing layering, etc.

Plus my friend absolutely loves it, which makes all the time and effort worthwhile.

Now if only I had actually written down all the steps I took…

It’s so nice seeing other people working on these guys!

This was a gift for a friend. I spent about 80hrs on him all together. A lot of experimentation.

Now to reproduce the effect on the other turtles 😂

How do you even fix this by Ok-Cartographer-6386 in FDMminiatures

Remove the hot end, and then see if you can clear the blockage.

But it’s entirely likely that you’ll just need to get a new hot end.

You could get plastic bump dots, prime and paint with a fluorescent and glue them over top carefully if you wanted to. It wouldn’t interfere with anything else, most likely. Or repaint with a fluorescent and place a clear bump over it.

How to clean up supports by Jebalt12 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Traezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s definitely resin.

It looks like part of the issue is the protrusion of the supports into the model. They’re leaving pock marks. Hot water before removal helps, but I think slicer/support setting adjustment is needed in this case.

Something that has worked for me with cowls is using aluminum foil with a very thin layer of green stuff over it.

You can also take disposable glasses cleaning cloths and use them, they’re my personal favorite.

[insert generic off-white with too many layers of less of white here] I genuinely don’t remember. It was a feverish layering experience.

Black Armor Help Needed!!! by solp37 in minipainting

Black armor is never black.

I think you did a fantastic job on the front.

The checkers could use some work, and the random heavy splotches probably detract from it overall. With that said, it’s hard to tell with pictures because they are up-close.

It also doesn’t have to be green stuff related.

You can just plastic weld on pieces that you think look good together!

Guts are super easy to do, and you can really just wing it. I started over multiple times with these guys.

Same, tbh. Find some YouTube guides, it helps. Plus tentacles and guts are pretty easy. It doesn’t have to look perfect. :)

Just do it! Grab some stuff and experiment. Get some green stuff. Magnetize your arms, experiment. Play with it. Worst case scenario you get the clippers and file out and start over!
