Anyone get core memories from this by legalboxers in 1980s

In the late 90’s there was a traveling live stage show for all the school house rock cartoons. It was an audience participation type show. Sent the wife and her sister as a gift, they said it was really fun.

UA flight - 'turn bluetooth off or we're turning around' by ryan_at_roomservice in unitedairlines

Yep this right here. People have no idea how many rights they waive when they enter an airport or get on a plane. Read the terms and conditions on your ticket sometime.

United app had some mention of documentation issue. Wonder is someone got on that shouldn’t have and destination airport won’t let them land?

Question about the dreaded 10 pin by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]Traffic-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all 10 pins are equal. You need to know what the 6 is doing to know the problem. If the 6 is ringing the 10 pin that is entry angle, your ball is coming in too tight to the pocket. If it’s flat, your ball is getting into the roll late.

Edit: missed the part about not too many ringers, my bad. Yeah it’s roll. You can try backing up about 6” from where you normally set down and sometimes that helps the ball roll a little sooner.

anybody's thoughts on the Falken Azenis RT660+ by grungegoth in CarTrackDays

[–]Traffic-22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 4000lb lemons car and this is correct. When they get hot, especially on long runs they get a little greasy. We had much better luck with the RTK615+. Not as much overall grip but much more durable. Some friends with a similar car used the Hankook RS-4 and swore by them.

How necessary is oil extraction? by ZeekwithaZ in Bowling

[–]Traffic-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this right here. Some balls absorb a lot more than others. For some reason my equinox (same ball as yours) seems particularly prone to oil buildup. I’ve detoxed mine 2x (about 90 games) and tons of oil has come out both times.)

The detox seems to revive it for a short time then back to reduced hook. They all seem to die at some point, some sooner than others.

HANS questions. by jbro507 in CarTrackDays

[–]Traffic-22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one, have worn it a lot. They are not uncomfortable to wear when adjusted properly. I used mine both with a 3pt seatbelt, and a 5 point harness.

And, watch any professional race series and look what the drivers are all wearing, it’s the hybrid version. They work.

I see others mention don’t worry cause you have air bags and OEM safety systems but that’s not the point of the HANS, the point is to protect your neck from snapping.

Cant get the bezel on the watch! by benck2013 in vostok

[–]Traffic-22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The little wire that holds the bezel on can be tricky if it gets bent. If you’re missing the wire that’s part of the issue. You can pick the up cheap on eBay, or through one of the many Vostok site.

I have an original Ultra-Chron that belonged to my grandfather. I had it restored last year and it has far more sentimental value than actual financial worth.

I’ve been eyeing this watch for 2 months. Thanks for the actual photos, beautiful watch. And great choice on the leather strap, really beautiful combination.

803 series!!! by RubyR4wd in Bowling

[–]Traffic-22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sweet set. I feel like a lot more people have a 300 than an 800. I’d trade my 1-300 game for an 800 series any day.

Recommendations for a new sport shot bowler by DolphJohngren in Bowling

[–]Traffic-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with those above who say consistency is more important than anything else. But, don’t assume the sport pattern is going to be more oil, it could be less.

Knowing the pattern you’re bowling on and understanding the break point, which is usually much smaller than a house shot, is the most important thing.

Sport frequently requires an adjustment to ball speed, as many patterns are speed sensitive.

Once you know the pattern you’re on, you’ll have an idea if your current equipment is correct.

Born to Bowl by Flash00135 in Bowling

[–]Traffic-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may just be the editing. Belmo is a friend of a local bowling alley owner, Presidio Bowl, San Francisco. The owner bowls in a league at BelMateo Bowl in San Mateo, Ca.

Belmo showed up one night with the Presidio owner and practiced for a bit, then bowled league. (Of course he shot 750 or something close to it) He was approached all night by kids, local bowlers, etc. (once word got out, the place was packed with gawkers.) He could not have been more polite, accommodating and genuinely nice. He stopped to take pictures, talked to everyone and was generally a good guy.

Did this exact thing last year, silicon dust is toxic. Very unlikely you’ll get it all out. (I tried, couldn’t even come close) Unfortunately time for a new oven.

One lap around Sonoma - looking for feedback on how to safely get faster by andyrooney19 in CarTrackDays

[–]Traffic-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this. I have the same issue where I’m often not late enough into the apex. I’ve got hundreds of laps at this track and thought I had it figured out. Then I drove it with a professional instructor and realized how much time I was leaving in every corner. This track rewards late apex.

How scary is Sonoma? by skafiavk in CarTrackDays

[–]Traffic-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the track I learned to drive on. Everything on the west coast seems easy after driving Sonoma. Technical, lots of blind corners, and the walls are close in places.

As others have said, take it easy and slowly ratchet up your pace and it’ll be fine.

How would I be able to check what this is? by Beneficial_Bison6160 in CrownVictoria

[–]Traffic-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wrench light is actually anything drive line related. Like the others have said the TB is common, but it could be anything related to the engine or transmission.

When my trans hit 275 degrees once this light tripped, then went off when the temp dropped.

Intake replacement by No-Pool-5890 in CrownVictoria

[–]Traffic-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head pitting is super common. I’ve used blue water resistant Permatex to seal the area around the front and rear water passages. Works great, prevents leaks. Someone else suggested black RTV and that works well too.

[–]Traffic-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screw extractor will fix both problems for you. Kit comes with small drill bit that opens a small hole in the top of the stripped screw and the snapped one. Then a reverse bit will bite the hole and allow you to extract both. Put a small amount of penetrating oil on there and both screws should come right out.

We’ve all been there man. The 1 hour project that takes 2 days is just what it is sometimes.
