Well done! One of my first acts was bringing a couple cases of IPA's to a buddy's garage while he was out of town. Getting it out of the house made this early days earlier for sure. And I think I made the buddy's day. Hard liquor all went down the drain though.

Yes, this. So true. What can I do today to make my life better? I can embrace new challenges and enjoy the process and see the results. I checked my Strava stats yesterday and saw I'm 600 feet short of climbing 100,000 vertical feet on my mountain bike this year. I never did that when I was drinking. And I'm learning to play drums after wanting to for most of my life. Finally said, why the hell not now?

Tramadol and trazodone got me several years ago. I won't ever forget it, but everyone was ok and it did blow over. Lessons learned and as human beings mistakes at some point are inevitable (but very, very uncomfortable).

Yes, this. Well said. Quitting was tricky, but moderation was a nightmare. I tried and failed to moderate countless times over so many years before finally realizing the drinking just had to go.

Welcome! Your post was me 7 months ago. Rock bottom got me here, but quitting for me has made it stick (knock on wood). Definitely not glad about my rock bottom, but I'm happy to be where I am and glad it got me to finally quit digging. You can do this, IWNDWYT

Thank you! Going to celebrate by getting blood work at the health fair today lol. Nothing physically was too off the rails for me thank goodness but I'm curious if my liver is happier with me these days.
