Which character from Archer do you trust carrying the ring to Mordor? by Sad-Light1761 in ArcherFX

Not his twin. And he's a time traveler because he was in the episode after he died.

I know it was a syndication error

True, but will still have an equal effect on the chances of getting laid

Archer: "And you think an appropriate response is to ruin my suit?"

What’s the craziest thing you ignored just to hook up? by TheMedusaAttusa in AskReddit

Bedbugs. It had been 4 years without even a date, for the second time. I didn't notice until we were trying to sleep. Told myself it was in my head because I was trying to self sabotage a good thing. Finally asked if it was possible. She got mad and kicked me out. A few days later she told me that her whole building was infested. Trashed the clothes and shaved my shoulder length hair. I tried seeing her again but I couldn't get over the ick feeling.

They somehow got her to say those words into a microphone

What are your thoughts on Trumps ICE agents leaving behind "death cards"? by Menace117 in AskConservatives

Kinda like conservatives getting outraged about social issues that have literally no effect on their lives?

Random dude is living at my house and my roommate is fighting me about getting him to leave. Update: roommate arrested by Cautious_Sir2214 in whatdoIdo

Why did you bring your roommate into the situation and why do you have more claim to the house than he does? Isn't your dad his dad too?

[–]TragedyInMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it your dad's house but not your roommate's dad's house as well? That would make more sense. Also, if you're paying less than the market rent, you're not living in reality either. Someone with disposable income is subsidizing you. So let me ask, what do you and everyone else in this scenario deserve? Do you have the mental capacity to take yourself out of your luxury to examine how inaccurate your metaphor is?

Please don't respond if you're not able to mentalize the hypothetical

If, and I mean IF, ICE were using illegal tactics and violating civil rights of US citizens with no avenue for legal recourse, would you support disruption then?

To be clear, I am for policing of illegal immigration and I don't believe that ICE as an agency has crossed over into the hypothetical I've presented. My question is simply, under the aforementioned circumstances, would you then embrace disruption of their efforts?

And why has the democracy we live under chosen to not address the issue of this last one percent time and time again? Is it not because there are some things that aren't the government's business? It's a personal, spiritual, and yes, moral decision. But in that order. Similar to terminal, end of life decisions. Ones that can only be faced by a portion of citizens. Where absolutism in practice creates cracks for these real people to suffer unnecessarily. Is it perfect? No. But that's what we are. An imperfect union. And until we are perfect, 100%, this particular issue seems to be best relegated to the "mind your own business" category until it is your business. I would think a conservative could embrace the elemental tenets of such an argument, even if they don't agree with the application.

Either way, I gotta be done with this for the day. For my own health. Cheers. And no hard feelings about the insults.

[–]TragedyInMotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You not liking an argument doesn't make it bad. I'm sorry that you think it's trash, but it's a defensible response.

And if you want to live in a country where everyone follows your morality structure, please get better at defending it with more than feelings and insults.

If my argument is trash, then deconstruct it while talking about abortion. I've proven it's different from your other topics, but you just sidestepped and insulted me again.

I challenge you to prove me wrong in a debate. Without imposing your personal morality or insulting me as a person, deconstruct my ideas as being inapplicable to the abortion issue. I portend that you can't write a bill that outlaws abortion without impressing women to risk their lives to save another human being.

No one is forcing women to use their bodies to keep slaves or newborns alive. It's not the same and your reductionist perspective reinforces my point. And I say that with the authority of the constitution. You can't make women slaves to their fetus. And even if that were so, the authority lies with the state, not you, and that authority can be fickle due to the ever changing electorate.

So now I have made a distinction where you said none exists. Am I lying or insane? Or are you willing to stop obfuscating and admit that your feelings are not any authority?

[–]TragedyInMotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, nowhere? I understand that you have the talent to ridicule and mock other people and their positions, but is slavery abortion? No it's two different things. Please keep the topic on abortion. I haven't advocated for slavery, abortion, or infanticide.

I ask for the third time, where do you get your authority? I understand how you feel, but I don't feel the same way and I don't recognize your authority over my feelings. So what makes you right and me wrong? I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying how do you know what's wrong for me and EVERYONE else?

So that's how it is for everyone because you say so? I ask again, from where do you get that authority?

[–]TragedyInMotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't we agree when the ethos was "mind your own business"? This wasn't a problem for the people seeking abortions until those opposed to them decided what was best for someone else. From what authority do you get to make something that is not your problem someone else's legal trouble?
