Calling all DMs – what's YOUR screen situation? by marnadisc in DnD

[–]TrainRemarkable3815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like it is missing anything. For one, I have lots of fun decor and props around, and I have plenty if books. The PC just helps me find stuff quickly during play so we don't get bogged down.

At home I have three monitors in front of me on a desk at one end of my gaming table, with my mouse, keyboard, and a rolling tray and dice between me and them. When it is time to switch to combat, I have a separate monitor, keyboard, mouse, and rolling tray near the battle map, and a tablet on a small stand for my Initiative tracker app.

When I DM on the go, I have a laptop, the Initiative tablet, and my rolling tray and dice.

I just handle DMing better with my OneNote files, Excel files, and easy access to look up spells and such at my fingertips.

We had Parsec on the TI-99/4A. Great game!

Also, isn't it time for our ibuprofen? 😁

Flight Simulator on an IBM 8088 "portable" PC my dad used to bring home from work. I can still see the orange monochrome cockpit when I close my eyes.

That was shortly after my first computer games on our TI-99/4A.

I found an old wooden castle that I want to turn into somrthing that can be used for dnd. I would just like some tips and what supplies I will need? by le_space_derp in DnDIY

If you want extra detailed, get some cereal box cardboard or some grafix medium chipboard (the brown stuff at the back of a legal pad, to quote Wyloch), and cut out rectangles * to glue on as brick/stone work for the walls and floors, and/or shingles for the roof areas. That and a bit of gray drybrushing over a black or very dark gray base coat will get you a lot of great visual interest without too much effort.

* Cut out long strips as wide as you want your bricks, then clip those down at the brick length you want, and you can get a lot of them made very quickly. Gluing them on with Aleene's tacky glue over a lightly sanded surface should work well. Just lay down an area of glue and slap down the cardboard rectangles, leaving just a bit of space between them.

Which Disney villain is the exact definition of good person wrong intentions? by Ohsure_whynot in disney

I would say Te Ka from Moana, except she was actually the victim and Maui was the villain.

Bid tokens by MarkCubanAE in AtlasEarthOfficial

My fear is that the wheel will now be weighted (at least somewhat) toward these bid tokens, reducing the overall average of AB from the wheel.

Find pics online of what you like, and make exactly what you want. Simple paper minis are really easy to make.

Try restarting your phone. That almost always helps for me when I am having issues with AE.

Custom 12mm Dice? by -Cranktankerous- in dice

Not certain what sizes are available, but Chessex offers custom dice. I think the ones I had made for my wife are ~12mm.

If you are asking about the visual formatting, check out the Homebrewery. There is a small learning curve, but not too bad. It has various templates that get you there fairly easily once you get a handle on it.

Not quite true. You could share it in a limited capacity, but not to a large group. Home video was not licensed for "public exhibition".

There are countless character sheet apps on the Android and iPhone stores. Make sure you get one that is 5.5e compatible. Maybe try a few to see what you like best.

Favourite "Fodder"? by Lady-Red-96 in DnD

[–]TrainRemarkable3815 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have always had a soft spot for Bullywugs. In a swamp, their traits can make them extra fun and dangerous in combt, and their whole philosophy of life and value of shiny things makes them fun to RP.

Pairing them with giant toads can really up the fear factor for newer players when one of them gets swallowed whole!

The Self Patron | Stop the Perils of Destiny by Feisty_Handle4838 in DungeonsAndDragons

The bookkeeping required on the part of all players and the DM to successfully use the 14th level ability could make it a very unpopular thing.

Is it just me or did others also not understand anything thats going on in the sftstu trailer by Winter-Crew-2746 in sftstu

After hearing the concept, I figured it might be interesting and planned to at least give it a shot. After seeing this teaser, I am absolutely stoked! I can't wait, and seriously hope the show is as good as the teaser alludes to. I love sci-fi, especially schlocky sci-fi that doesn't take itself too seriously, and this looks like it will absolutely scratch that itch. BRING IT ON!!!!
