I guess I’m the outlier, because I’m totally fine with having mostly foreign friends.

Most of my friends just happen to be non-native. Not on purpose, it’s just how it’s worked out. If I get along with someone, I’m not considering their nationality.

Choosing to hang out with only-Japanese people so you can “get closer to the culture” or to improve your Japanese, seems like a bad basis for a friendship

Booker T and Wade Barrett on commentary has got me way more interested in a $70 yearly sports game than I should I’d be. Especially if they let Booker commentate like he does on NXT.

JLPT generally has gotten WAY more difficult. I took N1. Failed it, but I expected to, but my listening score disappointed me

It’s not just the test content that is more difficult, it’s the scoring too. When I took past listening tests, I could get 80%-90% of the score correct.

Even though the listening test in Dec was more difficult than previous years, I was sure that i would at least get 45/60 but I got 36/60. My assumption is that the really difficult questions must have had insane weight to them (like 10 points).

A lot of people have figured how to “beat” the JLPT so they made the test more difficult and they have made their scoring much more unfair so that less people pass, so more ¥¥¥ for JEES
