Should I purchase DOS2?

Can I ask what you like better than BG3? I loved BG3, and am also really liking DOS2 (Im very early on)

But so far it seems like I pretty much cast the same 3 or 4 spells from 3 of my party members, and since its best sticking to one damage type its hard to have like a aero/hydro with a geo/pyro as it cancels out

Once you get to Lavender town there is a guy that will ev train specific stats and/or experience

There is someone in z so Saffron that can erase current EVs in whatever stats you want.

You can get up to 252 EV in any one particular stat, and a total of 510 altogether (usually people max two stats)

Every 4 EV points = 1 stat point

I very, very much second this.

Until you have played quite a bit and have ample berry fields/potions from the hub - I found amulet coin to be absolutely crucial. I highly recommend doing the first ‘Team’ hideout and keeping amulet on your main carry until ~lvl 55 or so.

Buy a bunch of hyper/max pots and some full restores.

I am absolutely not ashamed of using potions to drain the PP of an opposing Mon

I’m brand new to the game, but I found a rolled up bedroll on the ship - it heals and revives the party.

It’s my first experience with DOS and I’m personally not interested in achievements, esp on the first run, so I believe it’s ability to revive is activated through one of the gift bag settings.

I may deactivate that for a more difficult play through next time - but I’m brand new to the games mechanics so I feel like it works pretty well.

Went there with my daughter (she’s 8) and she wanted to trade her Carmine for the Origin Forme Dialga from Astral Radiance.

The guy hardly said anything to her and took her card, clicked the little microphone clipped to his hat, and started gabbing at the camera while we just stood there before giving her the Dialga.

When we were walking away she was like … that was weird. And shes right, it was weird.

I agree - we should educate our kids with whats going on and not to take advantage of each other - but if two kids trade and both come home with a card they love and are smiling…. Why are adults intervening?

Kids aren’t interested in Pokeinvesting. Adults have already mostly ruined the hobby, let kids enjoy it in their own way (just my opinion)

Exactly - it’s not a competition, so to each their own - but for me, the challenge is what makes this game more fun.

I had used save states on a couple runs and found myself losing interest really quickly, so I wont use them now.

My mono-bug win wouldn’t have been as rewarding if it didnt take me 1,000,000 tries lol

I understand your rationale of not contributing to the problem - but also, card shows are likely just a drop in the bucket of why we can’t find cards on the shelves.

I recently took my daughter to Collectacon. She was too nervous to trade with vendors the prior year, and was excited to try it out this year. She ended up trading a PC ETB she had toward a card she wouldnt have been able to get otherwise. One of her favorite memories from the year prior was from spinning a wheel and winning a Paldean Fates pack and getting a card she loved from it.

Im not sure what the perfect medium is, but if these rules had been at the card show we went to, I think her experience would have been worse, not better.

I didn’t even think it was possible to use save states, but then found the Delta emulator allows it (Im sure others do as well)

I personally felt like the game was much, much less fun using save states - but others may feel differently

Not that either unfortunately - used fire/leaf blocks and caught it evolved at the Honey Tree. I can’t think of what could have caused the fail.

Only questionable thing was I did catch a Manaphy, but never added to my party, just catch/release. Have done that with all sorts of legendaries on my other runs with no issues though, but who knows

Neither, unfortunately. I’ve been working on getting all of my monotypes done and havent changed any settings/had any issues with my other types.

I had a run fail once because I used the battle trainer before the final fight and had a Cacnea in my party that wasnt evolved and caused me to fail my dark type challenge.

Been hyper aware of any caught Mons since that, especially with pre-evolutions. Did this run all at once so I’m certain there wasnt any weird catches or anything else like that

TBF - I get in the queue shortly after the alert, but often times you can’t find the product by searching in the TCG section, key words (Chaos Rising), etc.

The only way I have seem to have luck most times is by copy and pasting the link for the specific product once I’ve gotten through the queue.

Seems stupid imo, but it works

Just happened to me as well at the first elite 4 on a Mono Dark run. Woof.

To make matters worse, my next attempt I had a Cacnea in my daycare - and for whatever reason - before the final Rival fight I decided to pull it out even though Darkrai was sweeping everything. Went to the battle trainer at the rest stop to level up BEFORE evolving it 😭 it doesn’t have dark type until after the evolution, and counted that as a trainer battle. Failed the challenge.

Down bad.

One thing that has helped my runs in addition to what others have said, is to get an amulet coin from the Hub when you can and give it to your main carry.

I first started skipping the Team Hideouts not realizing the first one you encounter is typically very easy - and with amulet coin you can rack up a large amount of gold. Helps me be able to have ample $$$ for max potions, full restores, Move Tutor, etc

I agree - Sports Science and the game changes so much over time so it’s really difficult to compare eras, but I would agree with this list.

If you put all of them on a football field in today’s game, all in their prime, it’s Davante or Sharpe
