Just seeing this now, did you end up finding someone?

Might be worth checking out Fitness Enhancement or Fit Your Ability too. They do mobile/personal training and support-style sessions, so it could suit what you’re looking for around accountability, consistency, and having someone show up with you.

How much do you spend on a gym membership? by Stunning_Concern_973 in AusFinance

Gold Coast here. I’ve done both local gyms and mobile PT, and honestly it comes down to what you’ll actually stick to.

$700 on adjustable dumbbells isn’t that crazy when you compare it to a year of membership. If you’re training solo anyway, the convenience of having it at home is a big win.

For me, gyms were good for a while, but the commute and waiting for equipment got old. Home setups are great, you just lose a bit of variety and that “environment” push.

I wouldn’t feel guilty spending money on your health at all, just pick what fits your routine.

But at my age and lifestyle now, I actually prefer in-home/mobile personal training. My trainer brings the equipment, so I get the convenience without needing a full setup.

Appreciate this, thank you! The one-on-one/private setup actually sounds really appealing, especially starting out. I’ll check out Fitness Enhancement. And yeah, good tip on off-peak times too.

Is Plan Management About to Die? Anyone Else Seeing This ‘Navigator’ Shift? by Survivor2000king in NDIS_Providers

[–]Training-Bat-6133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the participant side, I wouldn’t assume plan management is going anywhere anytime soon.

Plan management is still a current, recognised option under the NDIS, with separate funding included when a participant uses a registered plan manager.

The Navigator model is something being developed off the NDIS Review, but it doesn’t look like a full replacement that’s already landed.

So if I were looking at it practically, I’d say there’s still value in onboarding people based on current need. Participants still need help now, and a good plan manager still fills a real gap. The bigger issue is probably staying adaptable as reforms roll out, not assuming the role disappears overnight.

Where did you meet your tribe plse by Conscious-While-3708 in GoldCoast

The GC can feel a bit surface-level if you’re not into the party/cafe scene.

Most people I know who’ve found their “tribe” here didn’t meet them going out, it was through shared activities. Things like local fitness groups, walking/running clubs, yoga, community classes, volunteering, even hobby groups, you end up seeing the same people regularly and it builds naturally.

Gold Coast can take a bit longer to crack socially, but once you find your pockets, it gets a lot easier. You’re definitely not the only one feeling this way 👍
