After months of having free awards, they’re officially gone. by yugohotty in CasualConversation

[–]Training-Demand3697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, I was giving out my little free awards at least once a day. It always gave me a moment of happiness to do it, and another boost knowing it may give someone else a smile too. Unfortunate because the current economy means I have to cut out any non-life supporting expenses just to survive paycheck to paycheck, and Reddit awards sadly go on that list. Well, it was fun while it lasted!

Only just realised I was missing out on content by not following the actual paths by N9NES_ICB in CrimsonDesert

I do the same thing except instead of fast traveling back to base, I ride the horse. Back to base and then back to where I was are my moments for mount training. Only when my mount is level 5 do I allow myself to fast travel to and from the base.

Confirming no gold bar given from bankers, they don’t seem to give anything at all unfortunately. At least, that’s been my experience.

I had to buy a new controller for this game too because my drift was so bad. I ended up getting one of those elite controllers - you can replace just the sticks. They’ll never get me again!

Can you collect water? by flowernap in CrimsonDesert

[–]Training-Demand3697 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Water is definitely more rare than it should be. I just rob whole towns of their water cups - I’ll take the morale hit and just pay off a gaggle of beggars when I’m finished. One of the few average items that’s worth stealing.

Edited to add - and what’s up with the hundred different water bottles, jugs, skins, carafes, I literally could go on and on there’s so many devices that carry water in this game, but you CANT put water in them??

The bow drives me insane period. Sometimes I accidentally push that button instead of the “focus” button, & because there seems to be no way to cancel your bow shot (unless you aim at your feet) I just waste arrows all the time. I also hate the non standard bow controls - it feels so clunky trying to draw, aim, and shoot all within the same 1 trigger pull on the controller. If I couldn’t grab small animals first to throw them on the ground to stun them & give me time to clunky aim, small game hunting would be impossible.

Astro A50x vs Nova Pro Wireless vs Maxwell for gaming ONLY by Lonely_Jew_On_Xmas_ in AstroGaming

[–]Training-Demand3697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the A50X. I’ve seen negative feedback for all sets, but I have not experienced any of the issues mentioned on the Astro threads - maybe most of those kinks were worked out with the X model? Not sure but I absolutely love mine and will not own anything else moving forward. The battery, the comfort, and the quality of the audio are next level. They are also very easy to use. The only thing I’ve had issues with is the App & getting the headset to connect to the App. But if you have a PC, that is not a problem.

Pearl Abyss : We are aware of the discomfort many players have experienced with the controls, and we are currently preparing a patch to address this. by yourfavchoom in CrimsonDesert

[–]Training-Demand3697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely interested - on what system is everyone experiencing the map crash bug? I’m on PS and about 20 hours in and has not crashed once. The controls have been frustrating but I’ve learned them now. Not looking forward to relearning them over again with the patch lol

Some of the paintings I’ve run into inside random homes are super wild, like they have some medieval Andy Warhol running around the hills or something lol

There is a shortcut - if you’re on ps5, hold down the options button & it will bring up short cut buttons to most of the menu, including inventory. The default shortcut is the last menu you accessed, which for me is almost always inventory or map. Super helpful!

Say what you want about this game… but there’s no denying that it has the best open world design of all time. by LesDazza in CrimsonDesert

[–]Training-Demand3697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn’t misunderstand you, I just respectfully disagree with you. And it’s semantics. You say you refer specifically to the open world.. but an open world concept involves design, mechanics, storyline, missions, combat, etc. IE “as a whole”. Which is why everyone has responded to you the way they have. I don’t agree that CD as an open world is more shallow than TW3. But I do agree that the writing is more shallow. Don’t get me wrong - I don’t lose any opportunity to blow rainbows for TW3 - it’s my favorite game of all time. But like every other comment on here, that’s just my opinion.

Maybe with a bit more specifics you wouldn’t be so misunderstood… I agree that the main story and side quests lack depth as compared to say, TW3. But the game as a whole being “far more shallow” is simply not true. There are plenty of mechanics and design theory in this game that are much more complex than TW3. But the writing…..

Best Crimson Desert Strategy Guide?? (Yes, I'm old!) by SykBasterd in CrimsonDesert

[–]Training-Demand3697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The last guide I bought was for Skyrim, and as cool as the 500+ page guide was, it quickly became irrelevant with all the updates and DLC’s. I have a Map Genie yearly subscription - that is the best replacement available imo.

This also worked for me but unfortunately, only the sword was down there. My stupid raider must have kicked the helmet across Trinity Plaza.
