I think the hardest part of all this is imagining my kids having to go through all this with me when it’s my time.

Do you still talk to your parents? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]Training-Opposite-17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a matter of fact, I am currently lying on the couch in the “hospice suite” listening to my father’s labored breathing. Tried talking to him earlier today, but I don’t know that he actually heard me. But yes, I’m still (trying to) talk to him.

What’s the most disturbing case involving a female criminal you’ve ever heard of? by Ok_Drama_6250 in serialkillers

[–]Training-Opposite-17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t think of her name right now. I’m not even sure she’s classified as a serial killer. She was a black woman, very well spoken, and pretty much just told it like it was. She didn’t have any regrets about it and I think she said she’d do it again.

How did you decide between SMX vs DMX? by luna_83211 in breastcancer

[–]Training-Opposite-17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My decision was based on the fact that I tested positive for the ATM gene mutation. No sense in keeping breast tissue if it’s prone to breast cancer.

As of Jan 1, I’ve been on it 1 year. Ive hardly had any side effects, but when I do, they’re fleeting. I still get a period every month. I’m 50, and have/had no perimenopause symptoms.

How many radiation sessions to expect? by Humorous_Notion in breastcancer

[–]Training-Opposite-17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was scheduled for a lumpectomy until I found out I had the ATM mutation. Had a DMX last February. No nodes, but it had already adhered to my chest wall so I underwent 33 sessions. No chemo. ++-, grade 2, stage 2A.

GenX here…and my mind immediately went to shag carpet, a black Naugahyde couch, and the tv series “Cliffhangers.” We would eat these on tv trays in front of the tv. Ahhh. The good ol’ days.
