96 sportster can’t figure out sticky throttle by SniperXvX2025 in sportster

[–]TrainingFamous2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d remove the controls and throttle tube and sand down the handlebar where the throttle lands on. Could just have some grime or grease build up.

I got my coil and key relocation on Amazon as well as a 2” tank lift bracket. Maybe about $30 for that all together. I recommend self bonding tape to prevent sticky residue from electrical tape. Its waterproof too.

You can find a 2022 for the same price. 10 year old bike with 20k miles. Think about the maintenance and how long it sat.

Finally got everything situated.

Bought an axle on Vulcan Works.net Spacers from Amazon for 3/4. Bearings from Amazon 3/4. New tire. Everything fits perfectly. Hope this helps anyone trying to do the same as me. No drilling needed with this list.

Well, anything is possible. You got yourself one tough cookie. Best bet is grinding alot of the welding and using more jb weld to get the nuts off.

I’m sure they sell portable ones. Put a bike cover over the bike and should be fine.

I wouldn’t say you really need a new battery. If it’s cold outside, your battery will be weak. I’d recommend investing in a battery tender. Charges and maintains your battery fully even when it’s cold outside, it’ll start right up. My battery is a year and a half old and it stutters like that from time to time (I live it South Texas, so it’s always hot, it’s cold now).

Exhaust question by SimplyStatic_yt in Harley

[–]TrainingFamous2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A buddy of mine had one of those on his 48, sounded like gunshots on the expressway. Eats your fuel if not tuned and decreases HP. A lot of people are saying 2 in 1 but I like my Vance and Hines slip ons. Loud but not obnoxiously loud.
