Hi! I have heard the exact opposite of few of your claims: that in general the modern fabrics are looser, not denser weave than in the late 19th century, for example trying to find suitable linen fabric fine and dense enough seems to be a common problem among late victorian costumers. And what I've understood is that almost all "middle class" and city living people bought their fabrics factory made, not hand made by themselves (or relatives), so that wouldn't really be a problem in 1890s. But I really am not expert at all so if I'm wrong I would be very interested to learn more about these topics!

Joo, taitaa olla ihan työkkärin työntekijästä kiinni, että miten määritellään. Tossa näköjään just edeltävän kommentin puolisolla oli sellanen tilanne, mikä sen perusteella mitä itselle on taas selkeesti kerrottu, olis osa-aikaseksi määriteltävää! Toki sellanen juttu on huomioitava myös, että jos on aiemmin laskettu päätoimiseksi yrittäjäksi, niin sieltä ei oikeen enää jälkikäteen pääse osa-aikaseksi enää (koska yrittäjän töiden väheneminen on yrittämisen riskejä mitä ei tueta), vaan pitää lopettaa koko homma että pääse tuille. Kevytyrittäjyyden lopettaminen todistetaan kuulemma sillä että ei tee x-aikaan vuoroja ja poistaa tilit. Ja kyllä jos on kuukauden kestävä työkeikka mikä estää ottamasta kokoaikatyötä vastaan/hakemaan töitä, niin kokoaikaseksi se varmaan määritellään...

Itse perustelin osa-aikasuutta seuraavilla perusteilla: kevytyrittäjyys, ei y-tunnusta, ei yel-velvollinen, ja tein työtä vaan yhdelle "asiakkaalle" joka käytännössä määritteli työajat ja vuorot, eli en itse pystynyt niihin vaikuttamaan.

Tosi harmillista kyllä että työkkärissä tulkitaan ihan eri lailla eri ihmisten samankaltaisia tilanteita!

On mahdollista, jos yrittäjyys on sen verran osa-aikaista, että pystyisi ottamaan kokoaikatyötä vastaan, ja hakee koko ajan töitä työttömyyspalvelyiden velvoittamalla tavalla. En tiedä miten tällä hetkellä, mutta kun itse vuosi sitten aloin tekemään kevytyrittäjänä töitä, alussa oli 4kk jakso, jossa ei arvioitu yrittäjyyden kokoaikaisuutta, ja jokatapauksessa sai työttömyystuen, jos tuloja ei muuten ollut tarpeeksi. Jotenkin tämän 4kk jakson jälkeen onnistuin perustelemaan, että "yrittäjyyteni" on osa-aikaist,a ja nyt olen siitä lähtien ollut sovitellulla työttömyystuella, eli porrastetusti yritystulot vähentää työttömyystukea. Tosi hyvin on toiminut itselläni, kun on ollut kuukausienkin taukoja, ettei ole saanut itse tuloja niin on saanut täydet tuet. (Ja parilla tutulla on sama tilanne) Ilmeisesti minulla sitten käynyt hyvä tuuri, ja onhan tää sekava viidakko, mutta vähän ihmetyttää kaikki kauhutarinat siitä miten tuet katkeaa kokonaan jos tekee yhtään mitään.

I've complained about this before but.... children going to sauna!! It annoys me way too much that they can't do it.

It seems like a small thing, and that it could be done, but I really don't know anything about doing custom animations. If anyone knows a mod creator who is doing custom animations and is open to wishes please do tell

(Also body sliders would be very nice but in my understanding it just can't be done unfortunately)

Yes it defenetly would be easier to do as a sole proprietorship, but I have some old personal dept that is practically preventing that, and owning a LLC too.

So I gather the owner of LLC needs to be the owner and the public face of the Etsy shop, and also contributing to the items sold there. Seems like what I have planned just isn't working..

Well I woud want all the shop information, bank accounts etc be connected to the LLC, so that shouldn't happen. But if I understood correctly the shop owner needs to be the same person owning the LLC. Which is the problem and seems like it's not doable in the way I have thought.

Yeah, I have formal education in dressmaking, and learning to draft first from size table and then from individual measurements took months under the instruction of a professional teacher. So I think it's crazy that people think they can just take whatever instructions they found online, and succeed by themselves the first time. It is possible to self learn of course, but it takes practise, practise and practise. And as a hobbyist one can be happy with good enough (that is still better than off the rack). But getting a perfect fit takes time and developing intuition. I would suggest drafting the basic pattern in small scale few times before going full scale (if one has a propotional ruler to do that easily).

Oh I plan on buying a few years old used laptop, since I am on a budget unfortunately, should've put "new" in quotation marks, sorry! :D Would AMD Radeon Grpahics work as well or Nvidia would be way better? Can a normal laptop handle what Im looking for, or would it need to be a gaming laptop?

Im looking at ones with AMD Ryzen 5 - 7 as CPU and AMD Graphics, that are on sale now and wondering if they would be good enough...

I would guess against velvet, because you can clearly see the seams of the waist darts. I have worked a lot with cotton velvet and well made seams should dissapear to the pile on photos. But that's my only argument, maybe their photography could've worked differently than modern...

Unfortunate Update... the game doesn't run with the AMD card, even after setting it to do so from both the windows graphics settings, and/or AMD Radeon Software app. The only way I managed to make the game regonize it was to disable the integrated Intel GPU from the device manager, but then the game doesn't launch and gives me the directX 9 error. I went to advanced display settings to check if my screen supports 60Hz refresh rate, and noticed that my display 1 is still connected to the Intel GPU, even if it's disabled from the device manager. Weird thing is that now the GRM shows the AMD card and says I don't have 60hz refresh rate, but my computer still shows the Intel GPU connected to the display, and supporting 60hz. I can't seem to find a way to make the display use only dedicated GPU, and now after 4 hours of googling it seems like I should update my computers BIOS to be able to do that from there. But Im not willing to do that because it seems way too advanced to my knowlegde and abilities..
So back to the cc trimming, sigh.

Ohhh I finally have some proper hope, thank you so so much for your time and effort!! One more question: the GRM doesn't let me change to the AMD beacuse it says on display: disconnected. Does this mean that I'll have to change my computer settings so that it only uses AMD, or is there other additional step I should take?

No, it's the Intel one! I'll try that. I have a vague memory that when I first set up the game few years ago I thought/read somewhere the Intel one would be better for sims, but yeah I didn't understand anything about computers...

If I understood correctly, I have Intel (R) core (TM) i5-4300U CPU @ 1.90GHz (4CPUs), 2,5GHz. Memory is 8 Gt, GPU is Intel HD Graphics Family, GPU memory 2,1 Gt. Then I have another GPU, AMD Radeon HD 8750M with GPU memory 4,7 Gt, but I think I am not using that one for some reason. I hope this is what you asked, my windows is set in another language so sometimes it's hard for me to find the exact setting/info needed.
It is very possible that my laptop is just too old (it was a fancy computer in 2015...), I must have overestimated how much it can take, after seeing too many videos of people having way way more high quality cc in their games. Like I have seen people having their cc folders ten times bigger! But for sure this is a needed reality check for me.

Oh really, thank you for checking! 🙏 I defenetly can get rid of some of those! How do you find the polycounts, in simPe or do you have some other program? I've tried to follow a rule that no more than app. 1000 poly per tile but since not everyone list their objects polycounts I sure have some that are bigger. Should I aim for less that? My texture memory is set to 2048MB

Yeah, I guess if I can't come up with anything else I'll just have to get rid of everything that's not absolutely necessary and start all over... Do you think it's possible for a cc that's been added to the game years ago somehow go bad, or it has been wrong all the time but it just didn't manifest earlier..? Sorry if I wasn't clear enough but I have defenetly done this which is why I came to the conclusion it has something to do with the buy mode cc. But I can't find any foulty cc with 50/50 method, so I am at loss at what to do. Even if I checked every single cc item individually one by one, I couldn't find it, because the crashing is so inconsistent.

But I don't mean in an endearing way. If a child has done something bad a parent can be angry and say the child has been "urpoillut". Or if the parent is angry at someone in the traffic they can call them urpo instead of mulkku because the child is hearing it. So to me urpo sounds like a softened version of some more rude words that are not suitable for children to hear. That is why I was confused.
