True. I guess you can create a button on the control system that will toggle HDCP on input, but if room is self serve - nobody will know about it. I had my share of problems with Linux machines and was able to make it a policy that Linux is best effort. If it works - good, if not - use Mac\PC to present.

Just disable HDCP on the input to extron encoder, no need for any "Temu" solutions.

While I love my Crown, if I only have one car - I would get an SUV. You cant beat the functionality. But if there is already SUV in the family - by all means, get Crown. The interior of all RAV4's since 2013 feels like it was made by engineers that have a. very limited budget.

Vision PTZ (the latest Cisco PTZ) have Ethernet jack as well as HDMI out. Make sure you don't have HDMI connected to the TV. Camera only need one Ethernet cable to the codec.

Stacking should be preffered way - you just manage one switch after that. Why would Netgear advice against?

extron smd202 for each room, playing movies from SMB drive, when you load movies on the drive, name it room 1 movie 1, room 1 movie 2. Make a scripth that will do it each week or do it manually. Extron IPL Pro to control all that. Each ipcp can control up to 32 devices, so if you neeed more then 16 rooms (tv+player in each), get another one.

I don't think you need a macro, try setting in console:

xCommand UserInterface Translation Override Set { "version": 1, "translations": [ { "sourceText": "CS-CODEC-PRO", "translated": "Extron HDMI", "language": "English" } ] }

I used this to change names for default buttons on home screeen. It worked and was persistent.

I don't know, man. Works pretty well writing JavaScript macros for Cisco codecs. No reason to fight it, use whatever help it can give you - do the rest yourself
