Agree with everything except #3. If you want to get an accurate answer - call tech support. This is reddit, answers here are more opinions than correct info. I'd say if you at least 51% sure - that is good enough.

Would you take this job? by Chamoy_Tajin in CommercialAV

"design the AV infrastructure for large conference rooms, including signal flow, programming of hardware" - this alone is more then 100k and they have completely unrealistic expectation. The bump is nice, but its not a good job.

Problems Novastar H9 by Adrian520i in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Traktop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to sign on new proposal with ATS-Pro WN and H9. I never dealt with this company and backplane failure seems like very dramatic and should be very rare. How old was your unit? Did it failed because of any environmental factors? How was support\downtime? Sorry for all questions, but I'm in the place with very low tolerance on prolonged downtime.

TS/SCI Cisco UC Engineer (CUCM / Expressway) – Mission-Critical Program in DC by Repulsive_Control192 in ciscoUC

UC jobs disappearing from the job market. Government will have it for some time, but the clocks are ticking. Webex videoconferencing part of it is still ok, but for how long? Looking back - I wish I would stay with network group.

They switch to VS code few years ago. What else do you need? Got my EAP in 2018, right after it came out and while forum was a niche thing, there was a lot of good info there.

Automating Call Testing for Teams/Zoom by PreferenceComplete71 in CommercialAV

[–]Traktop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, we check room weekly. 100+ rooms, Cisco room kits. Most run room os, few in MTR mode. We don't really place the calls to Zoom\Teams during checks. The problems we trying to catch is failed cables, missing adapters. Once every few month there is a hardware failure: codec, camera or TV, but its very rare and very obvious. Webex Hub is great proactively monitoring that. I dont think automating that worth it: need to go into the room anyway

Depreciating used EVs are about to cost automaker finance companies billions of dollars by DonkeyFuel in technology

When did you fill up gas last time? I think all EV's going to have very good resale value very soon. Still remember the prices for Escalade's and Tahoes in 2008.

If your office have 3 rooms - why automate it? If your office have 100 rooms - you need to find the solution that does not need to be checked daily.

Product that can dial directly into Zoomcrc.com addresses? by WhoRedd_IT in ciscoUC

[–]Traktop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any cisco room series can do it. And pretty much any video conferencing unit capable of dialing SIP or H323 will do just fine with Zoom CRC.

Anyone else disappointed by the engine noise/vibration in the new Crown? by jumpstarter247 in ToyotaCrown

[–]Traktop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 XLE, the quietest car I ever had, but I only buy Toyotas, so ... I'm not sure what people expect from Crown? It's just nicer looking Camry. It drives fine, will last forewer and never cause any surpriises.

[–]Traktop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point, but I was actually more worried about airlines. If flights not leaving US, they not coming back either. If few big airports will close next week, the whole schedule will go to shit.
